I heard it is, but (from what I've heard...) Skype has a better quality. I just use msn for chats. I have no idea if you can call normal phonenumbers with msn, but with skype you can. Just add Skype-out, buy minutes (cheap, too) and talk to your boss to call in sick ;-)

So I wonder what the percentage is now, 2 years later? What I've never understood is why some people, who live alone, bother to have both a land line and a cell? Why have the expense of both? Personally, I have no use for a cell phone. In fact, I've never held one in my hands. My mother had a saying when she thought I didn't need something "You need it like you need a hole in the head". That's the way I feel about cell phones. If I got one, I'd probably never use it. My family and friends who call me at home rarely ever have to tell me something so important that it just can't wait. Almost never, so they can just leave a message for me at home. And when I'm out and about, the last thing I want is for someone to call me just to say "hi". Who needs that? Yep, if someone handed me a cell phone, I wouldn't have a clue how to text, use email, take a photo, store a number, and not even know how to make a call! And I don't care. I simply have no need for a cell. I even have a very old home phone, so old that the numbers and letters are half faded out and there's no call display. I hate talking on the phone anyway, always have. I'm sociable and love conversations in person, but not on the phone. That's my take.

The cell phone. Gotta be the most annoying invention of the 20th century.

Try living in the UK where I think pretty much 99% of the population have one. Obviously it's alot cheaper to use here but it has gotten to the point where you're expected to have one now. The sad thing is the number of children i've seen with cell phones or mobiles as we call them. Children as young as 9 or 10, it's just so unnecessary.

It is over 100% in Slovakia ( many people have two ), only reason to have a land line now is for internet, and since I have a fiber optic connection,
don't have a land line anymore, havent for couple years now.

Same in Italy, everyone has a cell.

I would imagine in Belguim, with all the EU people there, getting a
Belgian cell in addition to their home country mobiles,
should be 110-120%.

You guys are living in the Dark Ages. :)

Well we can't be too far off, I was making allowances for children and technophobes. It says something when our squadron deploys on exercise and we have to request 10 mobile phones from brigade for use on the Ex.

I have a landline and a cell. I use my landline to call, and my cell to be called and text. Its WAY too freaking expensive to call with a cell phone, especially international.

BTW, GREAT Necro :D

Am I the only one that's surprised it's as much as 2/3 of households and yet at the same time, surprised it's not higher? [huh]
