Considering that brain death isn't actually death (and in too many cases it's almost tragically misdiagnosed) then helping to heal the injured brain in a living body isn't exactly the same as reviving a corpse.

It might be very useful for patients who are 'locked in'.

It'd be fine if that's what they were doing it for but, given science's propensity for playing God, I can't see them stopping on people who are still breathing and still technically alive.
