Nothing is ever that simple. It's not like Al-Queda or muslims, or whoever, sit around a table and plan strategic moves. From Toronto, knowing what I know of police I'm still not convinced it wasn't a police operation pure and simple. The RCMP have always had a far too cozy relationship with the government, in fact there's an excellent book on RCMP protections of government officials.

On the other link Dr.Caleb mentions that there is no such thing as 'entrapment' in Canada, and that appears true. RCMP officers, or CSIS operatives, have often been the main rabble rousers when subversive groups just aren't militant enough (this IS Canada after all). It's no coincidence that the guys who flew the plane into New York were middle aged terrorists with pilots licenses. In Toronto we have a bunch of kids. They could have been drunk or bored of knocking over grave stones.

Keep in mind we've seen all this before, remember the four guys who happened to have the bad timing to be at a nuclear power plant together shortly after 911, only to be completely exonerated later?

So it's nice to know complicity by government agents only goes this far, unlike the states where plenty of evidence has them at least turning their backs and ignoring plans to kill thousands of americans, while many think their involvement is even more sinister.

But there's no doubt that there's all kinds of things that COULD happen, and saying 'here's WHY' terrorists did such and such, when you simply have no idea, just demeans the arguments.

While Quebec had good claims to being 'colonized', they certainly weren't horribly mistreated, but that didn't stop a small group from kidnapping and killing a public official. And that's all it takes-is a small group. However, coming from the maritimes this is all sort of small potatoes. Hell, every time EI changes are made to the fishing industry a bunch of fishermen show up and blow up the local MP's office! Or they set fire to native fishing vessels while the cops sit and watch.

Apparantly there's 'terrorism' and then there's TERRORISM.
