I guess if you lack the courage/skill to snowboard, skiing is alright.

NICE. I may get a chance to go up to whistler mid week, in april I think. I got a seasons pass for Mount Washington :D Only thing is is that Mount Washington hardly ever gets a good pow day, except next year there opening up the other side of the mountain, and there all gonna be double black diamonds  Early this year I wen't to Big White during that big cold snap, wicked skiing on those last days up there.

Say, what kinda skiis do you have?

Snowboarding seems a lot less involved than skiing, so im not sure If one would require "more skill".

I HAD a season pass at big white for 7 years and hit that thing at least 40 times a year. The best snow around and the terrian that will not let you down. I have never been to whistler but I did go up the chair with a lot of skiers that did ski there and they said they liked the trees, etc better at big white. Tevor if you havent gone to big white give it a shot, it will be worth it. The only bad thing at big white is the fog, (board by braille) some days it was really bad and you had to stay in the trees, but that is fun too.

When I moved to the island I dindnt have the time to go to mt. Washington and I was so spoilied from big white over the years it wasnt worth the drive or the cash. hopefully when they open the other side it will be better.

Now, a word to the two plankers out there

stay out of the way

Snowboarding kicks so much ass over skiing,
I skiied for 6 years and then I gave the big stick a try and then bought one that afternoon and never went back. The learning curve was quick, and the shit you can do is amazing. Give it a shot.

not me, but that looks fun eh?

And if like to baord and you havnt seen the best snowboarding videos ever, track down the "whiskey" videos. Some K-town boys and alot of shots from around BC and vancouver.

Obviously you have never seen a Warren Miller film

Becuase Skiing > Snowboarding

And it's not like you can't do tricks and crazy stuff on skiis, becuase you can. Infact ive seen more variation in ski tricks than snowboarding.

Go watch Cold Fusion, or Storm, both are wicked Warren Miller films.

EDIT: And my twin tips r0xx0rz j00 snowboard!

Warren Miller is a god ! and he has started to show alot of snowbaording on his movies. But lets compare the tricks that are done on ski compard to what is possible on a snowbaord.

Inverted air is very rare on ski's (yes it is very hard) and is starting to be done more and more infact it has just been ok for inverts this year on the world cup circuit for dual moguls. But the trick range is huge for snowboarding, maybe becasue it is easier to do different tricks on a snowboard.

Am I wrong? Image

i don't think that skiing or snowboarding requires more still than the other, just dif skills. by little bro started skiing to but now all he does is board. i have never tried to board cuz i just prefer skiing.

Two boards = 2x the variation in tricks. And your right it is EASIER, to do stuff on a snowboard, that's why skiing > snowboarding. More of a challenge.

Well, The thing with snowboarding is, is that it is a lot harder in the beginning, but as you get better and better, there is less of a challenge, where as in skiing, the better you get the harder it gets.

That's what I don't like about snowboarding, poeple just start it becuase it's supposedly "cooler" than skiing. No way im selling out.
