I was trying to remember the other day how many downhill biking rides I went on last year and I couldn't remember. So for this year I decided to create a ride log and I've made it as a Facebook application that anyone can use.

Its very simple at the moment, which is not a bad thing, I don't want to clutter it up. But I do have plans for more features if people actualy start using it!?

Basically all the app allows you to do now is enter in a database each ride you go on. With fields like location, trails you rode and friends you rode with. The app is integrated with facebooks friends system and has an option to post a message to your wall when you add a ride.

You can try it out here: http://apps.facebook.com/ridelog/

Current Features:
- Profile tab
- Narrow & Wide profile boxes showing latest rides added
- stats page showing most popular locations, trails, top riders and so on
- location, trail names & comments searchable
- Rider directory listing other riders
- export your rides to a CSV file
- privacy settings to exclude yourself from directory or stats
- More to come!!!

If you have any suggestions please let me know!

You should poke around this site: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/?o=RrzKj.

Guys (and gals and families) from all over keep journals of their biking adventures. I know one of the guys that keeps journals on there from year to year. Each summer he does a trip of at least 500kms. He posts a map and pins his daily stop points, tells the days tales, and then can read over it all again when he arrives back at home. I think the longest trip he ever did was around 1600kms, and I "watched" him do the whole thing. It's really quite interesting, and impressive, to read about some of the trips people make.

*edit: my bad.. his longest was 3600kms.
