Unfortunatly, the NHL has a knack for having the best teams falling short of even the finals, remember Detroit in '95 and '96?

Well, all Ottawa has to worry of is Dallas, and Vancouver just has to worry about Detroit, if those teams are pushed aside, its a clear path to the cup for both Vancouver and Ottawa.
