Only in the United States can a sports game turn to a point where riot police have to come out and watch the crowds. I'm refering to the Yankees and Redsocks game. I dunno, maybe this has happened in other countries, but it's just sad that in a country that claims to be civil, they have to bring out riot police for a baseball game....

Ever watched soccer games from other places in the world. Ask someone when you say soccer, what the first word they think of is...riot. Soccer riots are massive!

Soccer riots made the Yankees game look like a little league tiff between parents. I just read a report about fans rushing a the field and demanding the players all give up their jerseys because they weren't worthy of them due to their recent losing skid. This was during a practise!

People get shot at soccer games.

Baseball has to sink a few more levels to catch up.

Godz46 Godz46:

Baseball games are so boring, I mean its literaly watching the grass grow. If you can sit through 3 hours of lifeless action, your not likely to riot.

Speaking of baseball: Here's a question:

Now apparently baseball has a larger fan base than hockey right? How could that be? I mean baseball is lifeless. Seriously, when I was Chicago for University, I used to watch Cubs games to help me fall asleep.

Yet hockey, a sport of hart-pounding action, speed, roughness, FIGHTS ALLOWED, and high intensity (especially furing the playoffs) is labbled "boring" and "not a man's game" As opposed to what? Baseball where I havn't seen a single player sweat unless they're playing during a heat wave? Do you guys really count baseball as a sport? I don't.

Hmm, sorry if you aren't a fan, but I think you really know nothing about baseball. I used to play baseball, and you sweat a whole lot. About those quotes you had....I'd like to know who said that, because I'm a hockey fan, and I never hear ANY of my friends say lines like that...it's all who you know I suppose. If you aren't a fan of baseball, how can you say stuff about it being boring and so on? It's just like someone who isn't a fan of hockey would find it boring, it's all about your point of view. I'm a big fan of baseball, understand the sport, and played it up until I was in the 8th grade. I mean when a game is a championship game, and it's the bottom of the 9th, tied, and someone hits a homerun, then you would understand how it's not boring. Overall I don't really have much to say to you about it, either you like it or you don't. If you knew how hard it is to through some of those pitches or to hit a 445ft homerun, you might have a little more respect for the game, but I can't make anyone like something, all I can say is I like the game, and tons of other people do, and if you find it boring and don't like it, then that's your point of view, not a universal fact...

Avro Avro:
I think their was a big riot in Montreal last time the Habs won the cup and what the hell do you suppose would happen in Toronto if the Leafs ever got lucky enough to win the cup? I think I would leave for a few days and visit Boston.

Funny thing is the most exciting game is a Canadian one, no wonder the Yanks are always bombing shit.....they have nothing better to do simply because they cannot follow a black puck on a white surface without a colored dot. :D

That's untrue. I watch hockey all the time. Love the hits, love playing hockey videogames, and consider myself somewhat of a fan, although I can even turn on a soccer game and sit back and watch for a while without feeling bored. You say the most exciting game is a Canadian one, but that is coming from a Canadian point of view. If you went to the US you would probably hear that the most exciting games are the Superbowl or game 7 of the world series. I mean look what happened in Oakland a while back when they lost in the superbowl....riot. Of course it was no where on the lines of the Los Angelos riots, those where a real riot, not some hockey or football level riot...

Avro Avro:
Sorry pal baseball is boring like watching paint dry, makes me wanna go and.......get ......a......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I never said you have to like it, I was just saying why I like it. Not everyone is going to like what you like, and so on. I would much rather watch baseball than a hockey game...

why do people here always pisss on the states. Johnny, why the hate? It's not like there were problems. The cops just came, the yorkers settles down and i watched the rest of a fantastic game. Obviously you don't have a clue what you're talikng about.

In france when the hard core fans of Olympique de Marseille come to play against the PSG in Paris, they come in bus used for felons, then they are escorted to the game by armed guards just minutes before the game starts and they are put in a special area enclosed by fences and all around them are the guards and when the game is over, they're shipped back the same way.

I just wish people would start bashing the states whenever somethiung happens. Remember to choose your battle and don't fight the fight nobody cares about.

??? I'm an American man. I don't see where I had any hate? I watched the whole series between the Yankees and Boston, and my original comment was just about how ridiculous it was that riot police had to be taken out, and just how the game went. I agree it was a great game, especially when Damon or whatever hit the grand slam and the the other homerun. I think you need to take a chill pill. I'm not trying to cut down the states, I was just talking about what happened at the game...

let me be clear. There just seems to be more than necessary us bashing on this site, "only in the US" is a good example. States have done some bad things but also some good things. It's gets tiresome to hear people always bitch about the states in such a condescending way. Nobodies perfect especially if you critisize
