I can tell that paintball is not only one of the safest sports out there it is also one of the fastest growing. It has less injurys then hockey or football, when played on an insured field where, an ATSM certified google system that not only protects the eyes but the ears and mouth area as well, is mandatory to play.
Yes it stings when you get hit, after all the paintballs are flying at 280fps, and yes they can leave a bruise or even a welt, if you set shot a close range.
Sorry if this comes off as a rant but I am so tired of the bad press that paintball has been getting of late due to a few IDIOT children. I have never heard of anyone losing an eye while playing on a certified and insured paintball field.
