The day on FOX, during the Daytona 500 when he said he hoped people wouldn't call him 'Carpet-eater' truly showed his great sense of humour!

Now it would be nice if we could get Tracey and JV sponsors for a full time ride. I am also cheering DJ K and the #81 Nationwide crew.

I was pissed about JV's deal. They never gave him a chance.

A little slow on the response I haven't been around. Isn't he the owner of the team DJ is driving for?

Just read this over at TSN

CARPENTIER WILLING TO DO ANYTHING TO RACE

Patrick Carpentier says if he's unable to race his way into this weekend's NASCAR All-Star race, then he's hoping fans will vote him into the event.

Should it come down to the ballot box, then Carpentier is hoping to give fans some added incentive for voting for him.

"If we don't race our way in, I promised I would run naked down pit road if they voted me in," says the former open-wheel racer. "We'll see if they give me that chance."

Carpentier is no stranger to such a wager, having made a similar bet back in 2002 while racing in the CART series.

"This wouldn't be my first time streaking," says Carpentier. "I did it at the Mid-Ohio road course. I bet some friends that if I won the race I would run a lap naked. I ended up winning the race. So I had to do what I had to do.

"So I can guarantee you, if the fans vote me in, I will live up to my promise."

Carpentier can avoid having to shed his clothes by finishing either first or second in the Sprint Showdown qualifying race, which guarantees advancement to the All-Star race. Failing that, the driver with the highest number of votes who is still on the lead lap at the conclusion of the second segment will also earn a starting spot.

The 60-mile Showdown consists of two 20-lap segments with an optional pit stop between the two.

This will be Carpentier's first race action on the 1.5-mile Lowe's oval, however, he did test at the facility several weeks ago.

"This is one of the neat things about NASCAR. They always do things to make the sport stand out and this is one of those times. It's just going to be fun weekend. One of the coolest things is how the fans will be able to vote a driver into the All-Star from the Showdown race.

"I've been looking forward to this race for a while. It's going to be nice to have a Friday where I'm not stressed about qualifying on time. This race is going to be all about fun.

"Hopefully we can run strong enough to finish in the top-two in the Showdown race. But we'd be more than happy if we got the fan vote. We just want the chance to race in the All-Star."

I have been voting like a mad man. It would be nice to have him in there. Chances are slim but worse If nobody tried I guess.
