Wow! It was good to see Georges dominate on the feet that way, but a little annoying that he still couldn't finish.

That was the 1st knee lock I saw in a while. The other fighter was so dam thin though, he had an impressive fight stats of 7 KO and 7 submits but still you get a hillbilly on you of decent size and give him your leg he's gonna pull.

UFC 126 | Knockout of the Night

Apparently this kick was taught to Anderson Silva by Steven Seagal. No joke.

$1:
Steven Seagal helped Anderson Silva with KO front kick

Image

Action film star Steven Seagal accompanied UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva to the Octagon at UFC 126 on Saturday night before Silva knocked Vitor Belfort out with a highlight reel front kick. Seagal was not just there for star power. According to Silva, he learned the kick from Seagal.

"Steven Seagal helped me perfect that kick. That was a kick we were working on before I stepped in," Silva said through a translator at the post-fight press conference. "This was a kick that I trained a lot."

Seagal is known for the movies "Above the Law" and "Out for Justice," but he's also an accomplished martial artist, holding a black belt in aikido, a Japanese martial art, that he earned in Japan. His prowess has helped Silva become Yahoo! Sports' second-ranked pound-for-pound fighter in MMA.

He trains at the elite Black House gym with Silva, UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo and several other high level fighters, and is seen in this Brazilian video teaching Silva and other Blackhouse fighters.

This wasn't his first time at a fight with Silva, as he accompanied him to the cage before Silva's comeback victory at UFC 117. Now, Seagal can add two-time winning corner man to his resume.

$1:
Anderson Silva vs Georges St. Pierre superfight likely with GSP win on April 30 in Toronto

Image

So says Dana White at the UFC 126 post-fight press conference:
$1:
"Yeah, if St. Pierre beats Shields in Toronto, I think we'll do that fight. ... GSP is up next for Anderson Silva. ... It's looking like we're going to do this GSP fight. I gotta figure out this (Yushin) Okami thing. So yeah, he's going to be pissed. The big piece in making this fight (Silva vs. GSP) is where is it going to happen. I don't know. ... GSP has to beat Jake Shields and he has to come out of it healthy. ... We're going to do that fight at 185-pounds."

Step aside, Yushin Okami, there's a superfight to be had. After Anderson Silva knocked out Vitor Belfort with a front kick in the main event of UFC 126: "Silva vs. Belfort" on Feb. 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, company President Dana White was faced with the obvious question -- who's next for his 185-pound champion? It looks like as long as his 170-pound champion, Georges St. Pierre, can get past his considerable challenge at UFC 129 on April 30 in Toronto in Jake Shields, the "Fight of the Century" will finally be made. Who knows what's next for Okami, but really, do you care? Now that we're just one "GSP" win away from a megafight of epic proportions, are there any Shields fans left?
