Man that was vicious. I thought the fights were good. The only bad one was the boy from Surrey man he will never EVER fight again. What an embarrassment, he did nothing but run away. GSP training mate in the after card fight was actually pretty good too, I knew it was a decent fight because the 1st fight of the night already had blood on the mat so I knew to stick around.

Khalib Starnes(sp) Quite the embarrassing performance from him. I think you might be right on his UFC career!

Even when a fight is on the defensive mode, and the Nate Quarry vs. Kalib Starnes fight was, I don't want to see the referee shouting after the fighters to work.

Anyone catch UFC 84 Saturday?

I did, and there were some great fights that night. Especially the Penn/Sherk fight.

The exploding ear, why would they stop a fight because of that?

If modern Olympics were genuine Olympics, Georges would fight to become a god tomorrow.

Don't bet that the 15-fights winning streak of Fitch will go on tonight.

It didn't. GSP owned him for all 5 rounds.

Oh and Lesnar mangled Herring as well.

One more "w" for Georges. Next stop for him, BJ Penn.

If a guy missed the GSP / Fitch fight this weekend, does anybody know of any places a guy could go online to watch it?

Man Fitch took a beating. Gotta have respect for the guy. He got a good pounding in at least 4 of the 5 rounds, but never went out. Mad respect for him. Lesner was a surprise.

Taking a beating in a round is a 10-8 round for the opponent.

Hey I'm not sure if this is too late but you can definitely watch it still at MMA Video Post (the link in my signature). They got tons of other fights too.
PEACE.

I've had a slight interest in all this since the Royce Gracie days, but recently there's been this controversy in Vancouver about whether or not MMA will be allowed as an event in the city, so I've been trying to catch up, and become more knowledgeable.

Can somebody explain the UFC sucks thing to me?

It seems to go something like UFC has status, because of their ability to promote, but there's this vocal outrage saying UFC hasn't been getting the best fighters so their belts are meaningless.

You hear it loudest in the heavyweight division right now. Apparently Fedor Amalienenko won't fight in the UFC, but if you go places like here 73 per cent of those voting in the poll think Fedor would wipe the floor with the UFC champ if that matchup were ever allowed to happen.

So here's my question. Do the belts in MMA mean anything? Is there any way for a fighter who doesn't sign up with UFC to get a belt?

Why are people so convinced Pride was the superior organization as far as better fighters are concerned? I missed that one.
