Any fight fans in da House?

If so, How many are gonna watch "The Ultimate fighting championship 58" in March.....

If not, Heads up all you Canuckleheads, Mixed Martial Arts, (MMA), is a fightsport that is takin off in popularity right now. For years it has been and still is banned in Ontario. Alberta allows it and Quebec has been a part of it for a long time. TKO an MMA organization in Quebec has produced some Ass Kickin Canadian Champions that are sweeping the Organisations in the States.

In March the UFC 58 is billed Canada vs. USA, where 9 Canadian Fighters will be matched up with 9 American Fighters. The MW championship belt is on the line as David "The Crow" Loiseau will challenge Rich Franklin.

And if you haven't heard of Goerge St. Pierre people I don't know what to say except check him out. He is one of the most exciting Canadian Athletes out there and he is on FIRE.

Come on, no fight fans?

Funny, George St. Pierre said he loves Canada, they just don't know much about this sport....Consider MMA the next BIG thing in sports and we have a bunch of top athletes representing Canada.....

I understand why they had to introduce all the rules for it to be sanctioned, but I still liked it alot better when there were no rules, and no weight classes.

Tank Abbott, and Don Fry allways had entertaining fights.

Yeah, those were the good ole days...Have you watched MMA lately. Since '93 when Royce Gracie and company put on a clinique for all of us the sport has evolved to a time where no one style can dominate. The competition is fierce and the fights are even more entertaining.

If you like watching the big boys throw down I got one name for ya..

Fedor Emilienanko...............This man would eat Tank Abbott and have Don Frye for dessert.

I know a guy who fought Tank....he got the shit kicked outta him. The way he tells the story is great...."I remember getting hit 3 times.....when I watched the tape I counted 28."....he did manage to kick Tank in the guts once....kinda went downhill from there though.

I enjoy watching it more than boxing/wrestling, but I haven't watched enough to be considered a fan... no regular television watching.

I watched Ken Shamrock's debacle of a "comeback" last year... that kind of ruined it for me.

UFC 58 I think I will pass on. George St. Pierre will be a good fight but the rest does not look that interesting.

"some of them train together so knowing each other can make it lame at times"

Banff, the circuit has exploded, The fighters have far to many other guys willing to fight that they rarely have matches against each other.

In fact there is a new league rumoured to be coming out, that will pit teams of fighters against other teams. Each team will have a coach and 5 fighters (one in each weight class)...There are some big name coaches involved and It will be interesting
