Can you believe this? I kinda find it funny, plain and simple, just like me the rest of the world doesn't care for the game of baseball. Its boring, and unathletic.... It's history as an olympic sport only made it a little ways, hopefully it won't be missed, and I doubt anyone will kick up any fuss until 2012.

"unathletic?"

One of the things I like about baseball is that the practioners don't turn into circus freaks. (Unlike football and basketball.)

It's a good healthy, athletic game, and you can tell because the good players look fit and athletic and healthy, --not like a side-show carnival.

Also, somebody somewhere once demonstrated that the single hardest thing to do in all sports is to hit a major league pitch.

Every other club & ball sport, the thing is just sitting there and you whack at it. (With the exception of lacrosse.)

Even then, a major league pitch is coming at you 90 miles an hour.

Baseball is an importaint summer sport. Developed in Canada, plaed thought the Carribian, Latin America, Asia (particularly Japan), and of rising popularity in Europe baseball is bocomeing the worlds top sport. I think that it is because badeball is America's favorite passtime, primarily because it is a fun game and a good way to get exercise. I think that this has more to do with anti-US sentimant then the game of baseball.

Softball should go. If women, gerneraly I don't want to sound prejudicial, are weaker but have faster reflexes then men, then why do they have a game where you have a ball wich is larger, harder tho though and thus slower and easier to hit, but takes more strenght to hit a long ways. Of course I ust admit that baseball is more fun to watch when the ball rolles to the shortstop and there is a race to first base.

I guess that the IOC feels that swimming 100m in under 50 seconds is much harder. I know I do.

So you're all set then to get a hit in a major league game?

well due to laws of probability there's a chance that I could hit it, and I was a pretty good ball player back in the day, so that improves my chances. On the other hand, there is no laws of probability in being able to achieve times that Olympic sprinters achieve. I believe that your quote of most difficult thing to do in sports is mislead. Probably by an over zealous baseball supporter.

If you think babeball is unathletic consider the fact that curling is an offical sport, and thats basically just a bar game on ice.

From the alcohol abusing Babe Ruth, to the steroid abusing players today, beaing healthy and fit has always managed to elude baseball players.

Tour de France, Marathons, swimming, rowing, the biathlon, the ironman. Well almost any sport is harder then baseball.

Any sport which has this guy

as an icon, is not physically straining.

Basically what you mean to say, is that baseball is harder then golf, I won't disagree with you there... but then again, I don't consider golf a terribly athletic sport either.

Since, in Field Hockey, and lacrosse (as you mentioned) the ball is moving around.

true babe ruth had his porblems and wasn't as fit in his later career, but he was a hard hitter, just one aspect of the game. he's one of the last guys to bat when the bases are most likely to be loaded and sent he ball out of the park, no easy feat I might add, but babe ruth was very good at it.

drug abuse is a problem in almost every sport. The ones exempt are the least athletic. Baseball is no exception.

Hardly anyone outside America plays baseball or other American sports. I think Yank sports are rubbish.

Baseball is copied from an English game called rounders - which is played by schoolgirls, and basketball (invented in Canada, though) is descended from the English game of netball - played by schoolgirls.

So America's national sport is descended from a game played by schoolgirls.

GB, take your Eighteenth Century Imperialistic views and shove them up whatever orifice is handy.

You've become tiresome, droll, and predictable.
