Just wondering since Montreal left to Washington D.C. If the habitants of Vancouver would want a Baseball team To replace the one that left Canada.

Basket Ball didn't work in Vancouver. Vancouver lost it's triple A team, so I would bet a Magor league ball team would be moving south before too long if was started. Plus we would be left with a baseball stadium that cost way too much money and would have no use after the team was gone. Baseball just isn't as popular in Canada as it is in the US, many Canadians, myself included, like playing, but watching isn't on our top 10 list of things to do.

Baseball is my favourite sport to play (am a rather proficient third baseman); however if you try to sit down and watch the game at a stadium or via TV it's boring as hell. In fact, the only reason why I can watch a game at a stadium is because I play it so I can bring an appreciation with me to the game, even if I'm not in it.

Yeah yeah I did shed a tear that day. But remeber the Rangers were the frist team in this century to break a cruse against Vancouver. The Rangers had the Curse of lord Stanley they drank out of the stanley cup I will try to find the link.

Lily I knew it was the Canucks just rying to be sarcastict.

My mistake they did not drink from it. Rangers burn the mortgage
The NHL's New York Rangers were supposedly hexed for more than half a century by mortgage papers. The Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 1940. That same year, team owners paid off their mortgage on Madison Square Garden. The celebration included burning the documents in the shiny trophy, an act that some say cursed the team. The Rangers didn't win another title for 54 years. This is from CBC sports

Wow.That's pretty impressive, especially considering that this century is not even 5 years old.
:D

MMMMM i am in a time warp. I meant the last century. I guess generation X will always be stuck in the 90's

Interesting. The Curse of the Bambino is a better story though.

I read a story like that from Brazil a little while ago. What happened was that a fan of a team that had been killed 12-0 by the team Vasco de Gama took a toad with its mouth sewn shut and buried it under the field of Vasco de Gama's stadium and said "Vasco won't win a championship for twelve years!"

In the 11th year the curse was broken a year early.

The cruse of the bambino is the best story part of me was glad to see it all happen while i was alive. Just wish it did not happen to my beloved Yankees. But I guess they had to beat the yankees frist to win the World Series.

On a different note I went to Manchester V. Milan game last year in the Medowlands in New Jersy Good show even though Manchester won 3-1.

Nice. I saw Chelsea and Celtic in Seattle in that same little tour. Great game (Chelsea won 4-2) but it was bloody HOT! (40 C or 100 F). I felt bad for the players who had to play in that for 90 minutes.

And yeah, it was great to see the curse broken. I usually don't watch baseball (because it bores me to tears) but I was watching that with great interest. I think it was entirely fitting that the curse was broken against the Yankees. It only makes sense (as much as that logic pains Yankees fans).
