Alright everybody, this will be short and easy :)
I just need a vote!
I am a student working on a new product proposal; it's a golf ball with a microchip installed inside. It works with GPS technology in order to let the golfer know about the speed, angle, distance from hole, and location of the ball (so you don't lose it). Because of the technology it will be more expensive than a normal ball.
Would you buy it? Do you consider it necessary???

Thanks for your feedback and comments are welcome

How much more expensive? Twice the money? You should break it down to show how many old style balls you would have to lose before the GPS ball paid for itself.

Cool idea BTW :)

You would also need the technology for accessing the information contained in the golf ball. Perhaps a PDA sized device that provides you with all of the data you just talked about.

That would add to the total investment a golfer would make and would probably be a big influencer over the consumer's decision.

i think there id definatly a market for suck a tihng. a lot of ppl who play golf have money to spend. And with the "baby" boomer generation aging, and retiring that means... more golf, and big incomes.

Heh I can't help but laugh, because it reminds me of when Fox started picking up NHL games way back when and Americans were complaining that they couldn't see a big black puck on white ice, so much so that FOXSPORTS had to put a big blue halo around the puck for viewers at home. Personally I thought that was the most asinine thing that was ever done to the sport. Thank god they stop that garbage...
