You wanted more baseball talk:

ALE

Toronto has been on a nice win streak going 8-2 in the last ten games. This still leaves them 8 1/2 games out of frist place in the ALE. To compare the leaders, Boston went 5-5, 2nd place Baltimore (1 1/2) went 6-4, New York Yankies went 4-6 just barely stoping a 6 game loseing streak, Tampa Bay who is just ahead of Toronto went 4-6 and remain 5 games out of first place.

NLC

St. Louis , Cincinati 2 1/2, and Pitsburgh 3, all went 6-4 while Chicago at 15 games out went 4-6, Milwaukee at 15 1/2 needs to do a lot better then 6-4 if it even hopes to be in contention come September.

Next Monday I'll have the NLW and the ALC. That is if you all want me to. :)

Brought to you by the sports desk of Stratos.

The Vancouver Canadians continued their early season losing streak, managing to lose their home opener 10-1 to the Spokane Indians on Monday night.

$1:
(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, Vancouver, BC) - An eight run outburst in the fifth inning by the Spokane Indians was more than enough against the Vancouver Canadians on Monday night, as the Indians picked up their first win of the year when they beat the C's 10-1 during the home opener at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The Indians took the lead in the fourth inning when a single by RF Ryan Cordell put them up 1-0. Spokane then took command in the fifth when they got to C's LHP Bobby Brosnahan, knocking him out of the game after he allowed seven hits and five runs.

Vancouver's RHP Tim Brechbuehler couldn't stop the damage, as he allowed three runs and four hits, the biggest being a three-run triple by 1B Cam Schiller. Overall, the Indians sent 15 hitters to the plate in the fifth inning and scored eight runs.

The C's only offence came in the eighth inning when OF Nico Taylor scored on a wild pitch after hitting a leadoff triple. Indians starter RHP David Ledbetter shut down Vancouver over the first three innings, and the bullpen followed his lead. In total, Spokane pitchers allowed only five hits and struck out 12.

Vancouver's pitching settled down after the big inning, as RHP Alvido Jimenez, RHP Markus Brisker, RHP Justin James and RHP Brandon Dorsett combined to allow only three hits and one run over four innings of work.

With the loss, Vancouver falls to 1-3 (.250) on the 2013 season, while Spokane picked up their first win of the season to move to 1-3 (.250).

Okay time for a bit of Black Sox 1919. Read the article and then watch the video. Good Canadian connection mentioned.
