Time to get my ass back to work.Off to Nunavut on monday, fly out of Calgary and overnight at Winnipeg monday night, then fly north eventually going to a float plane and then chopper to get to the camp(tent camp) north of Baker lake, tip of the hudsons bay and then north some. It's a 6 week job and I will be training some of the natives on the machinery. Were building a tank farm and a landing strip, looks like good fishing with every cast getting you a 2 pounder and the natives will take you out after work. 15 pounders are common and most are released. No cel service or net, plus its dry and a bottle of whiskey will go for about $150.00.
No trees though,not a one.
Should go buy up a bunch of bug spray and get another Hudson Bay wool blanket.
I swore at one time I would never go back to the territories, now i'm looking forward to it,like a 6 week camping trip. I was told to bring lots of smokes also.
Any tips from the other bushwackers out there? Christ, they even told me to bring my fishing rod,I'm just wondering if I can bring toothpaste,6 weeks is a long time to go without brushing the teeth.
Good money, will be able to take the winter off if I want after this.
