Has anyone been to Norman Wells, NT? what's the general opinion on the place? I'm putting some thought in to relocating there for about a year.

A good friend of mine was offered a Project Managers job there last year. They flew him up there to look around. He said it was very isolated and that there was basically one street in the town with not much there. It was also quite a journey to get in and out of there even by plane.

I lived in Hay River for 2 years. Hay River, NT has a population of 1200 whereas Norman Wells is about 800.

I don't mind the isolation or the cold for that matter.

When can you start?
I guess if you're happy with your job, you can live pretty much anywhere.

One of my nephews does a lot of work around there. Has for a couple years now. He loves it up there. It's isolated, there's little to do, but he loves it nonetheless.

It's one of those things that's either in your blood or it isn't.
