QBC

Do take that rail trip, I may be bias, but there are few places on earth, none that I have been to, that compare to the beauty we have in Canada.

Angler57
Not bias; You are correct. We have many great places here in the Smokey mountains and out west.
But on our many visits to Canada have always been suprised and pleased with every corner we have turned.
Mid-June will return.
Have elderly folks who are ill. Can't get to far from home. So, no cross-country journey yet. Dad-gumit.

Took a nice Pike today on a Chartreuse and orange woolly bugger fished on a floating line. I also took two Walleye the same way. The ice has just come off so I'd imagine the warm water species are a wee bit on the lethargic side until the temp goes up a tab. All in all though, it was a pretty good day, lost three others and missed maybe four or five more.

Thanks so much for all your answers re the pike. I spend most of June, July and August on the lake, when the water is pretty warm. No wonder everyone just throws them back! Good to know.

Cutties!!!!!

Love fishing Cutties, haven't tried for them since the last time I went out to Bella Coola when I lived in Willaims Lake. Caught some damn fine sea runs that trip.

Good Luck Gunny!

Today was a great day!!!!

Although is was a wee tad on the windy side and...it snowed...all in all we had fun today in the new boat.

Rosie nailed the first two fish, both nice big Pike. The first one was pushing the 40" class and the second was in the 30" range. Only bad thing, WE NEED A BIGGER NET!!! We lost both fish right at the boat, the first one I had the bogo grip within an inch of his mouth!!!

I finally got into a fish awhile later, it was a nice 13 inch perch. (That Rosie is cooking up as I type this... :D ) I hit a couple of hammer handles as did Rosie, then I finally got into a nice Pike. 76 cm (30 Inch) and is my biggest Pike landed to date. (Rosie is also cooking him as I type this... )

I lost one more 30-35 inch Pike near the end of the day, but by then we were both frozen and decided the Pike would have to wait another day.

Was a great day with my girl though... :D

Oh that's nice fishies Q. Pretty soon I'll be getting oot.

I picked up a couple padded folding swivel seats at wallyworld for 50 each. A very worthwhile investment! What motor is your boat paired up with?

Around here no one eats Pike, it's Pickeral, Trout or the odd Bass if the water isn't too warm.
