How many out there are kayak fishers?
How many find ultra-lite tackle will easily land pike, steelhead and other larger species?

Ohio Valley 4/3/10. Barometer 29.3. Temp. 65f/appx.17c. Winds five/ten mph. Time 12:30p.m. EDT. Overcast and light showers.

Son and grandson are out in kayaks as we should be.
In the last month they have been averaging seven largemouth per outing. No smallies here. Am told water is to shallow, to warm.
Most of their fish are about 15 inches and two/2.5lbs. Fish have wintered well. Son has caught a four/five pounder so far.
Buzz-baits and plastic minnows are working best. Find it nice that many of our Kentuck methods transfer well to Canada. The ole trick of tossing a plastic worm onto rock or sand and working it into the water has served us well catching smallmouth.

Fellas returned. Grandson struck-out but, his Dad landed three bass. Two, four and six plus pounds. Fish were caught during light showers.
Son was using a bait made in Alabaster, Alabama by Reaction Innovations. White lure named White Trash.
All were caught ripping the lure across weed cover inches below the water.
