That's not Purple Loose Strife Shep. That pic was taken about 200 yards off shore and I believe the plant is a Water Smartweed. There were rather large beds of these plants at the one end of the reservoir. Flower beds in the middle of the lake, as Rosie put it. The colour was rather fantastic especially with the calm water for a background.
No EB, no courses taken so far. I've just been experimenting with what the camera can do. Looking at photos in galleries and the like and trying to figure out how the artists got certain effects or context that caught my eye. Many of the local coffee shops have local photographers work hanging in them for sale, even the farmers market has a few who show off their work. It's really kind of cool as to where you can gain knowledge if you look for it....
I still think the pic I posted in the "for the birds" thread is my favorite from that trip.
