I spent 5 and a half years in Germany while I was in the service. Very beautiful country to visit. Make sure you take in Heidleburg (visit the castle and wine cellar) and take the Rhine River cruise starting at Cologne. The scenery is breathtaking and castles line all along the river. The Oktoberfest in Munchin will be a real blast! Enjoy your trip.

Just got back, and those are all great places to go to. Just plan on taking more time than you may have planned on, especially in Berlin.

When you're in berlin, be sure to check out the Altes Museum and the Pergamon-museum. you won"t regret it. Also, when you're in Berlin, be sure to get a WelcomeCard train pass. It gets you onto all of the publlic transpotation in Berlin for 2 or 3 days, plus you get coupons to get into some of the museums cheaper.

Oh, and be sure to visit the Tiergarten as well.
