Breaking news - multiple sources.

21-year-old Oscar Ortega-Hernandez, who the Secret Service is now identifying as an Occupy Wall Streeter from Idaho, is reported to have shot at the White House today firing multiple 7.62mm rounds from an SKS rifle. The OWS camp in Washington DC is currently surrounded by police and Secret Service who are combing the camp looking for Ortega-Hernandez who abandoned his car and his rifle nearby the camp minutes after the shooting.

If the dude is an OWS and a Lefty, it kinda puts a kibosh on the oft repeated "Conservatives would eradicate Liberals in a civil war because Liberals are Anti-Gun" mantra.

In December of 2008, a (center-left) friend of mine told me she was absolutely convinced that some racist redneck would assassinate Obama during his first term.

She was quite wrong.

I'm glad the Obamas were out of town for this.

Apparently this happened on Friday. The Pennsylvania state police picked the guy up today at a hotel. Some other reports are saying that the guy's got a record of mental illness involving some instances of violence. Could be another Loughner incident with a nutcase getting stoked up with too much of the violent rhetoric that permeates the atmosphere.

No, that won't change. Note that the clown fired off at least 20 and maybe even 30 rounds and all he did was crack a window.

In a civil war you folks would come out on the short end of the stick against the police, the military, militias, and genuine right-wing nutbags who typically send more lead downrange in a day than the average lefty will in their entire life.
