Here's a more legitimate scandal:
source wrote:
a man named Wade Sanders, who himself held a Silver Star, and who introduced [2004 Presidential Candidate John] Kerry to the Democratic Convention [...] is now in Federal prison, serving a 37-month sentence for possessing child pornography. Now the Navy Times reports that Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus has revoked Sanders' Silver Star.

You're all right. I'm going to chalk that gaffe down my recent insomnia. Maybe I should have gone with: FOX News is a propaganda organisation so odious it makes the Ministry of Truth look as trustworthy as the BBC.

How so? Did Kerry know that in 2004? This is as equal a waste of time and space as Bart's original post was. I took a more interesting shit today.

Did Kerry know about the kiddie porn? I sincerely doubt it. But did Kerry know the guy was a fake hero? He had to. Wade Sanders was the guy who vouched for Kerry's alleged heroism during the whole Swift Boat affair. Given that Kerry's claims were debunked then Kerry obviously knew that Sanders was full of it.

Actually, here's an example of real tyranny being disguised as the usual populist TeaParty dreck: Hey, let's rewrite the entire Consitution so we can always get our way!. And, BTW, the debt ceiling (which no American rightwinger gave a damn about at all from 2001 to 2008) isn't the only part of the legal foundation of the United States that these guys would like get rid of or "revise" through Congressional dictate.

Right-wing Congressional radical populism is a tyranny just as bad and dangerous as anything that an imperial Presidency could ever do.

No doubt - as I've said, the only issue is what the money is spent on.

The Dems want it for social programs and the Republicans want tax cuts and massive defence spending. Neither party really cares about how much debt that rack up as long as their interests are taken care of.
