I hope CNN will explain this one because it's not all that funny either.

It's just a poor charactorization of Obama. He's got tons of manorisms and habits that they could be lampooning but they don't even try.

It had a chuckle factor of about 2 out of 5.

So when SNL makes fun of Sarah Palin they're shooting Bambi, but when they make fun of Obama, they didn't go far enough? Biased much?

The only KIND OF funny part was the "Oh wait, you owe us money" part. I'd like the rest of my time back,

Xerxes, you're not the one being objective here.
If they didn't tell you that was Obama, you definately might not have made the connection because the charactor has almost none of his recognisable traits.
His dependance on teleprompters, his habits, even his uh.. stuttering was only half done.
It was a very half assed charactorization.

Agreed, it was pretty shit.

Did they even slightly tan that guy's face? Why do white people keep playing Obama?

I'd say this is more of an example of how SNL is no longer the show it once was (and has been replaced by Stewart and Colbert), than anything else.

If you want to see SNL ripping on a Democratic president, you need only watch Phil Hartmann doing Bill Clinton.

That's called an in-ear monitor. Musicians and people who debate in noisy halls use them so they can clearly hear what the other people are saying. I'm sure we can find a shot of (pick a public figure) using one, too, as they're very common.
