Thanos Thanos:
Repeat - the Dems should draft Brett Crozier for POTUS, just to watch a man with honour, decency, and empathy utterly destroy an evil creature with absolutely none of those qualities.

Two problems with that idea. First off he is still in the Navy. Just because someone is relieved of command does not mean that they are removed from service. Second President Trump said today that he is going to personally look into the situation. He said that he does not want to see someone's life destroyed just because they had a bad day. Captain Crozier could be regaining control of the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

from how things sounded, it didn't look like his life was going to be destroyed. everybody sympathizes with him, but the military has its "rules are rules" schtick it feels the need to keep up with and so it's doing it's formal slap on the wrist thing

from what i've seen so far, literally nobody is gunning to ruin this man's life.
he's already recognized as a hero

I actually forgot that we were gearing up for an election for a minute there. Have not heard anything about it for a few weeks now. Speaking of the election: why doesn't Bernie announce that he is running as a third candidate? He is not a democrat. Never has been. Never will be. The dems are just going to keep screwing him over like they have been from the start. They cannot control him. He is not going to read the script that they write for him. We are living in a very different world than we were just a few weeks ago. A lot of the jobs that are going away are not coming back. Big retailers like Macys and JCPenny were considering closing stores back before this whole thing blew up. Lots of people will be losing their medical insurance by losing their job. Most of them will not be able to afford it on the exchange. My friend looked into it and they told him it would be $900 a month.

If we stay out of work for several months the bills are going to pile up. Even a lot of people who do go back to their jobs are going to be broke. Broke ass people will not be taking summer vacations or eating out on a regular basis. A 12 pack of Milwaukee's best at home will replace a night out at the sports bar. The recession can be long and deep. People will be depending on the government more than ever. Bernie will instantly have a much larger base than he did a few weeks ago. Lots of people are probably already regretting not voting for Bernie when they had the chance to before everything went off the rails. Its probably to late for him to win the democratic nomination, but why bother? Just run an independent campaign. Run as a socialist!

Give it time. The Trump Regime's regularly gone out of it's way to smear and vindictively harm each and every military or intelligence official that have gone up against them. They'll get around to fucking over Crozier either later or sooner.

I've been told there is a sort of "sore loser" type law in the states; where you can't get on the ballot if you've lost the democratic/republican primary in the same cycle

i may be slightly misinterpreting whatever the law is, but i'm pretty sure that's the gist

Waitig for the announcement that because of the Corona outbreak and the ban on public gatherings, the November election and all political campaigns are "temporarily postponed" until the President deems it "safe" to proceed.
I'm sure Trump supporters will all support that.

They're already trying it in Wisconsin.

That will not surprise me at all. I'm expecting it actually.

I did not know that. I did a little research and found out that in the states that have "sore loser" laws that they do not apply to presidential elections except in South Dakota and Texas.
https://ballotpedia.org/Sore_loser_laws ... ates,_2016
Texas is a winner take all electoral votes state. The republicans have not lost Texas in a Presidential election since 1976 when Carter won there. Very unlikely that Bernie would win Texas. He could win California and he could win New York. The world is drastically changing by the minute. Biden is going over a cliff. His handlers are not even letting him speak in public anymore. Every time that he does speak he seems to have aged 20 years since the last that that he spoke. He cannot put a sentence together, and does not seem aware of his surroundings. He threatens and insults his own supporters. The democrats are not going to be able to keep hiding this guy away until November. Every time that he speaks he weakens the nation. Have you ever met anyone that was actually inspired by Biden even when he knew where he was? I have not. I don't think that he is a bad guy, just another typical politician. One more cog in the political machine.

Well, it won't be Breadline Bernie Sanders leading the new left to the Socialist utopia. He dropped out this morning.

$1:
WASHINGTON — Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced Wednesday that he is dropping out of the Democratic presidential race, after weeks of clinging to an all-but-impossible path to victory over his moderate rival Joe Biden in a race now frozen by the coronavirus crisis.

Sanders thanked his supporters for helping the country take a “major step forward” in progressives’ quest to address income inequality, but said that he had made the “difficult and painful” decision to end his campaign.

The US really needs a third option.

Populist worker's party or something like that.

A party not owned by the one percenters.

Too bad that Bernie won’t be the nominee. I still think he would have beaten Trump handily. I think Biden can too but Bernie has an appeal that can cut across party lines.

Here’s hoping Biden is smart and picks Liz Warren or Stacy Abrams as his VP pick.
