I don't need 40 pounds of stuff in a backpack like a millenial running away from home every day.

Ummm, they don't run away from home........

They look like they are! Like I wrote, most days I have my wallet, glasses and phone. What in the world do they carry with them in those heavy backpacks, that they can't do without for a few hours? ;)

Depends on where I'm going. Work or school I have my laptop, chargers, headphones, various portable media storage, first aid, water bottle, knife, handcuffs (carry over from security), flashlight x2, medication, insulated collapsible mug, hobo knife, ear buds, couple fisher pens, notebook, portable battery, random adapters. That's with my backpack almost empty. I can travel for 3 or 4 days with all of that still in there. ;)

If it's just going out for a couple hours it will stay at home.

That's my point. :) If I were flying to Toronto, I might take half that stuff with me. If I'm going out for less than 3 days, I'd leave it at home. ;)

Depends on where I'm going. If I'm going grocery shopping, it's a lot like you, keys, phone, wallet, pocket knife, headphones. But I still have emergency stuff in my car at all times.

I always have emergency stuff in my vehicle. Fire extinguisher, first aid, emergency blanket, toolkit . . . but I've never heard of a laptop emergency. ;)

I always keep emergency items in my car, too.

Flashlight, flares, emergency strobe, rope, trauma kit, water purification kit, a couple MREs, several knives, and at least one loud noisemaking thingy. Sometimes two.

Cop chokes a black kid for not respecting his authoritah.

Video at the link

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/out ... le-n873351

$1:
Anthony Wall's night started by escorting his 16-year-old sister to her high school prom outside Fayetteville, North Carolina.

It ended with the 22-year-old black man in handcuffs and face down outside a Waffle House. A now widely shared video of Wall being choked and manhandled by a white police officer has triggered an official review and renewed national concerns from racial-justice groups about police use of force.

The altercation between Wall and the police officer early Saturday was captured on cellphone video, which has been viewed more than 1 million times on Facebook. Wall was still dressed in his black-and-tan tuxedo vest when the incident occurred at a Waffle House in Warsaw, North Carolina.

By the way, this utterly oppressive police tactic of regularly tackling everyone to the ground has got to stop.

You haven't met my family. I end up having random IT emergencies.

I've got a full bug out bag in my car with that kind of stuff. Should be interesting if a cop ever opens it and sees the machete....

The bug out bags (plural) that I keep at home vary in their content depending on the event taking place.

I try to be ready for...

Impromptu vacations
Floods
Fires
Earthquakes
Civil disruptions
Small wars
Moderate size wars
World Wars

- and -

Biblical shit PDT_Armataz_01_06

This is easier since I adopted a modular strategy I adopted from a guy I know, Matthew Bracken.

You have a core bag of things that you'll take with you for ANY event and then have bags ready for specific events.

When the specific event occurs you drop the core bag into the specific bag and you're good to go inside ten seconds.

The one in my car would be more of a core one that doubles as a camping one. Basic survival shit like food, water purification, shelter, clothes, fire, meds etc. But also has some more luxury stuff, like a camping cot. Putting together a modular system would be interesting. The biggest issue is in the case of the last three on your list, I gotta hit home for firearms anyways.

I wouldn't mind at some point owning an "off the grid" piece of land to fuck off to for both fun and necessity. Throw a nice bunker underneath a cabin or something amirite?

Tricks Tricks:
rickc rickc:
The Red Sox game is on so I am not going to spend time breaking things down into individual quotes for you. First off this is the police misconduct thread, not the whiny self entitled millennial thread. It is for poor bastards who get their asses beat with batons for walking while black, and people who get 100 rounds put through them for holding a cell phone. It is not for some entitled bitch who cannot follow the traffic and immigration laws of the country she is attending school in. I point out the fact that she brought this on herself by driving 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. You respond with some smart ass answer about how I have never gone over the speed limit and rolling eyes. Real mature. Typical millennial response, always playing the victim card. Never wanting to take any responsibility for their own actions. Boo fucking hoo, they are doing it to!!! Like she is being picked on. Like she would be free to drive 140 kph in Canada with no legal repercussions.
Absolutely not. If she had been issued a speeding ticket and been sent on her way, this would not be a news story.
$1:
You highlight a couple of words in my quote about driving in Georgia (may, and available) like that changes anything. Yes they MAY ask, and we all know what happens when it is NOT available, don't we? Your ass goes to jail and your car gets impounded.

Wrong.
$1:
You state that my link stating that ALL aliens (you might want to research the word alien, because that is what she is) does not apply because she is not an immigrant. That has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever read.

Wrong. The motor vehicle act disagrees with you.

$1:
You previously stated that immigration law does not apply because she is not an immigrant than you contradict yourself and repost sec. 262 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Wrong. I said she doesn't need to carry immigration papers because she's not an immigrant. She has no immigration papers. Keep up.

$1:
That part of the law is for people passing through the state, or visiting on vacation. There are time limits as to how long you can drive on that foreign license, and it sure as hell is not two years. Why don't you dig a little deeper and get back with us when you are in the mood for some humble pie.
Wrong. No where does it specify this.

$1:
I do not know you. I do not recall ever speaking or debating with you on any topic. I have never insulted you. Yet here you are insulting me and getting personal. Why?
Because you're an idiot.

$1:
It looks like internet tough guy syndrome to me. You see people who are pussies in real life and have spent their lives getting their panzy asses kicked like to talk shit online to people that they do not know. Its safer that way isn't it?

Seems like you're butthurt about it.

The rest is a bunch of old man whining. Better go change your diaper gramps.

The treaty clearly states that it only applies to LEGAL immigrants. The proof of legality is squarely on the shoulders of the person in the U.S. You call other people idiots but you have been wrong about everything that you have posted in this thread. I posted links showing how only LEGAL immigrants can drive on a foreign license in the states. I posted a link where a lawyer who has passed the bar exam and is licensed to practice law is stating as much. A huge part of his practice is defending aliens that have been arrested for driving without a license because they are in the U.S. illegally, even though they have a legal license from their home country. A real man would apologize and say that he is wrong, but like I already stated you are not a real man. You are a pussy and a momma's boy. You talk shit hiding behind a keyboard while living in your mothers basement. You call me butt hurt, most of us are not used to taking it up the ass on a daily basis like you are. No wife, no girl friend, no mortgage, no kids, no responsibility. A 28 year old child still living with his parents, playing video games, probably still playing with your light saber. You probably have never even left the province. Could you be more pathetic?

Hey kid, your mommy is calling you to wash up for breakfast. Make sure you get all that jizz off your lips before go to the table.
