What sucks is if you don't show ID you can be arrested for failure to show proper ID to an officer upon request. Dammed if you do and Dammed of you don't. Not sure if that apply's in all states but it does here in Texas

Actually Texas is one of the best states for NOT having to show ID to the police.
https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs ... /PE.38.htm
Texas penal code 38.02 states that a person may be charged with failure to ID if they: A fail to ID AFTER they have been LAWFULLY arrested. B gives false ID info after they have been arrested, give false ID info after they have been LAWFULLY detained, gives false ID info after being asked by an officer that believes that they are a witness to a crime. All one has to do is state that they are going to remain silent. Do not answer any questions. They cannot charge you with failure to ID as you have NOT been lawfully arrested, and you have Not given any false ID info.

There is a youtuber who lives in Texas. His screen name is the Battousai. His real name is Phillip Turner. He got sick and tired of being harrassed for driving, walking, living, while black. He started carrying a camera and documenting his encounters with the police. He then started filming the police in their interactions with the public. He is by far and away the best at what he does, the gold standard if you will. He even has a court case named after him: Turner vs. Driver, where the courts rule that private citizens have the legal right to film public employees in the course of their duty. Here is a video of him at his best: (I have never prouder to post a video)

Its hard to believe that its only been a few weeks and we are already seeing the same shit in a different state (a Canadian driving with a Canadian license being cited for driving without a license). On the last go round I stated that the police had a "legal" case as the woman did not have any proof that she was in the country legally. This guy has his act together. He has his paperwork, he knows his rights, he records the entire event, he was even aware of the last case that happened a few weeks ago. I used a video from an American who monitors police abuse. The original video is from the man himself. I have seen his videos before. He and his friends travel around North America in exotic cars. He is a smart man, and apparently wealthy. He has the means to tackle these problems head on.

It is unbelievable how clueless some of these police really are. This man will have to waste his time appearing in court to fight these bullshit charges. If he is found innocent, he might not be able to sue as he was not arrested. The cop started off by saying that the man ran a red light, but did not issue a citation when the driver told him that he had a dash cam. He knew that he was caught in a lie. He makes up a BS modified exhaust charge (with no decibel monitoring device whatsoever), and the coup de grace of the driving without a license charge. This cop is too lazy to learn how to do his job. Its embarrassing when a foreign tourist knows the laws better than a law enforcement official that is paid to enforce the law. There SHOULD be repercussions for this officer, but there won't be.

Being an arrogant POS with the police..... just never works.

Calling them 'dude', and saying shit like 'you're not Customs, so piss off',
is just begging for it.

Having said that, the cop responded to being treated badly.

Yup, the red light was bullshit, and the exhaust,
(btw, you cannot reproduce the lab conditions where cars are homologated,
so a DB meter on the street is complete bullshit)

and the threat to tow the car because D/L, the cop might even slide on that.
If buddy was working in CA, he would be in violation of 'change your DL resident'.

So, shitty stop made worse by rich man behaving badly. Oh well.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bo ... f4c22b7773

Quote:
New Jersey police released bodycam video Wednesday that shows an officer pinning a beachgoer to the ground and punching her in the head, days after cellphone footage of her arrest went viral over the weekend.

The nine-minute clip features graphic footage of Wildwood police apprehending Emily Weinman, 20, while she sat on the beach with her daughter, her daughter’s father and a friend.

Police officers asked Weinman to breathe into a breath analysis device after they found alcohol near her beach blankets. She apparently passed the test and said the booze belonged to her aunt. Weinman was apprehended after she refused to provide her last name to the officers.

“You thought we were drinking so now you’re mad because your Breathalyzer came up negative,” Weinman told the two cops as they attempted to write her a ticket. “You don’t need my last name.”

“OK, that’s it ― I’m done with you,” one police officer can be heard saying in the video before asking his partner for handcuffs.

“You’re about to get dropped,” the officer tells Weinman when she walks away and tells him to leave her alone.

Weinman appears to use her hands to block the cop as he approaches her. The video cuts out momentarily, then shows Weinman screaming as the police officer pulls her to the ground and grabs her hair.

“They’re choking me!” Weinman yells while trying to free herself from the officer.

“That’s it,” the cop says before punching her in the head several times.

The officers involved in the arrest were patrolmen Thomas Cannon, John Hillman and Robert Jordan, according to NJ.com. It is not clear which officer hit Weinman.

Weinman was handcuffed, put into a police vehicle, and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and possession of alcohol as a minor.

Can't believe this shit goes on even when the cops KNOW they're on video! What arrogance!!!

They know they’ll likely face no repercussions for this behaviour. That’s why.

LAPD UTTER FAIL

8 PITs

3 spike strips

3 tires deflated, high speed chase of 2 - 8 mph.... for an hour.

At one point, the police actually stop the 'chase', and then members of the public got so angry,
several cars started brake checks and trying to box the car in.

Police actually humiliated into doing their jobs, just unreal.

Start watching around 50mins in.

Just imagine the overtime money.
Just imagine the leftists 'concern' for rabid criminals.
Just imagine the calls to 911, 'wtf are you doing letting this guy drive around for nothing ?'

Take Commiefornia and toss it into the ocean, it has zero redeeming value.

Vigilante behaviour because the police are so unbelievably inept.

Holy shit the media people talking are complete idiots. Has no one heard of a rolling barricade down there? I saw so many points where the guy was stopped with several cruisers around that they could block him in with. And they did nothing. WTF are they doing?

Dude looked black. Knowing LA for how it runs the PD could be under orders not to be too "aggressive" with blacks and Latinos, especially in an election year. That's not a racist comment, that's just acknowledging that politics in Southern Cali in one huge minefield just waiting to explode. Not sure what the crime rate is like there now, if the cops have been backing off as instructed by the cities and state government but it is sort of noticeable that California, as opposed to other less left-wing states, doesn't seem to have had a controversial police shooting of a minority in a while that sets off a media nightmare. That one cop who kicked the car door in frustration near the end of the video could conceivably be the only one in that particular "chase" that gets in trouble.

Apparently breaking news:

Quote:
Four Mesa police officers are on administrative leave following an incident in May during which a suspect was punched several times. In an interview, Mesa police chief Ramon Batista said on May 23, just before midnight, officers responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment near Main Street and Horne.

A woman had reported to police that her ex-boyfriend was trying to break into an apartment. As officers arrived, they made contact with two men leaving the area. When officers directed the ex-boyfriend, 20-year-old Erick Reyes to sit down, he reportedly complied with their orders.

Batista said 33-year-old Robert Johnson was heading to the elevator and officers asked him to sit down as well. Johnson reportedly did not comply with their orders, and as they approached him to seat him, he resisted. Officers then struck him several times to get him to comply. According to Batista, four officers were involved.

Of them, he says three officers were involved in hitting Johnson, while the sergeant was the lone officer who did not. Batista said he was notified of the incident a week after by a community member, at which point he initiated an investigation into the case. Following the May 23 incident, Johnson was charged with disorderly conduct and hindering. Reyes was charged with disorderly conduct-domestic violence and paraphernalia.

"This in no way represents the whole work that is done every day," Batista said of his department. "They're human beings and certainly at first glance, this looks like a mistake." The video made it's way to Johnson's pastor, who is teaming up with two attorneys to help come to Johnson's defense.

"There is no explanation that you can justify that level of force," said Pastor Andre Miller with New Beginnings Church. Miller said that he'd be "happy" if Chief Batista fired the involved officers. "I understand that police have to use force in certain situations," Miller said. "At the end of the day, when do you not use force?"

Pastor Andre Miller, Attorney Joel Robbins, and Attorney Benjamin Taylor released the following joint statement on the incident: "On May 23rd, 2018, Robert Johnson was beaten by multiple Mesa Police officers while others looked on. Mr. Johnson was cooperative and following police instructions. Mr. Johnson was sitting peacefully against a wall when the assault began. He did not resist. The misconduct of these officers would have gone unnoticed if it had not been captured by surveillance videos at the apartment complex where the assault occurred.

We hope and pray that the Mesa Police Department will accept responsibility for the misconduct of these officers. Mesa must take concrete steps to ensure that culpable officers are disciplined, retrained, or dismissed.

The Mesa Police Department must develop a law enforcement culture that meets community and constitutional norms and ensures that police and citizens go home safely after police interactions. We plan on holding a press conference Thursday, June 7, 2018 to discuss this incident and the culture of violence at the Mesa Police Department."

I'm frankly shocked at the shoddy police work here. You'd expect by now that these thugs would know enough to seize any surveillance video and then 'accidentally' destroy it.
