A great poem HB but a bit nieve, we are no different than the animals that rip their prey limb from limb as they wail and flesh tears and blood sprays as their hearts are still pumping as life is slowly drained in a pool of crimsion on the ground to satisfiy that hunger that is in all of use.

I know this verges on science fiction, but would you eat cloned meat? Scientists are trying to create chickens that are essentially a digestive tract, brain stem and the rest being breast meat. AGGGHHH Soylent chicken..........

ketchup? blasphemy.

I agree. Why ruin it with ketchup?

I love meat, but my sister is a veggie. I respect people's choices whether they choose to eat meat or not. But damn, that steak looked good. [drool]

thanks for not saying anything cruel Canucker... ;)

Sheps...I don't even like the taste of meat anymore...I do eat substitute meat...it doesn't taste like meat...I dunno how to describe it, but it's really good...but when I think about eating meat, it makes me wanna vomit...

If I did like the taste of meat...no I still would not eat a cloned animal...I dunno why, but I wouldn't..

No problem. I'm not always a bitch. And it's true, I respect yours and anyone else's choice to not eat meat. We are lucky to have a choice.

yeah, we are lucky...I wrote that poem when I was like 13 by the way...so some of the things were stuff that I heard from PETA and other animal activist sites/magazines...I know a lot of it is exaggerated and some of it doesn't happen anymore, but I still don't like slaughterhouses...it'll never change... ;)

I heard...that's why I'm not associated with them anymore ;) When they started exaggerating about stuff and crap, I stopped ordering leaflets and stickers...but when I was like 14, you should have seen me! I was passing out stuff EVERYWHERE I went! if you think that my protesting is annoying now... you would NOT want to know the 14 year old side of me!! I encountered a lot of assholes...one guy crumbled up the leaflet right in front of me and told me to go away or something like that...

You lost me on that one HB, Tranquillizers? What do you mean.

well, when you're tranquillised, you don't feel anything...animals don't know how to use them, but humans do ;) yeah yeah they can get expensive, but that's what it takes!!

Nice poem.

We believe every living thing has a spirit. Including plants. That is not to say you cannot use it to provide for yourself but that you treat everything with respect. Getting harder and harder to maintain that view in todays society.
That is why I don't like "sportsmen". Taking life for pleasure.

I would like to be a fruititarian, but that's hard...for those of you who don't know, it's taken to the most extreme! you're a vegan, but you eat the plants unless they've fallen from the tree naturally 8O

So you could eat animals that die of natural causes....
