$1:
I now wish there was atleast one middle east country (Maybe Byzantine) with a decent military capable enough to match 1:1 with the europe units because the pope makes being a Christian nation annoying, everything you do is wrong. If you attack another christian nation, the pope gets angry at you. If you do it too much he excommunicates you and every christian nation is free to attack you.

That's why you make alliances and form either the "Excommunicated League" or the "Fuck Everybody League" and just start tearing shit up. :P

Like when I played as Spain, France and Sicily kept attacking me, adne very tiem I got close to conquering them, the Pope would be like: "Stop, or else I excommunicate you." And I would always comply, because the last thing I need is a Papal army coming down on me with Venetian and Hungarian armies.

But I got tired of trying to bribe the pope, and losing money due to constant repair of buildings and building of armies, so I just said "fuck it", and kept on attacking.

The Pope's biggest mistake was killing a general in a very important city of mine. Over the next five turns, Rome is mine, I'm chasing the Pope and what's left of his cohort through the Alps, and there are five Inquisitors dead. :P

Empire: Total War release is March 3rd (Tomorrow). Cannot wait, it's going to be intense.

Also if you visit the total war website they launched a demo about a couple weeks ago. Much like how the M2: TW Demo was, the start lags and the game-play is not as smooth as it should be but once M2 was released the game-play was great.

The musketeers are perfect regarding game-play. Completly different than those shitty M2 muskets.

The move abilities are fantastic. You can group selected units and press a up button x times and they will take a step that many x times. Great for when you are out of range but only got a few feet to go and don't want to bother re-positioning everything.

They also got a back button, turn left, turn right. Makes it easy to mass move your units to face multiple enemies.

The animations are fantastic as well, one I saw last time I played the demo was a Brit soldier got shot in the stomache, dropped to his knees and held his wound for 5 seconds before he dropped down dead from blood lose.

You can actually see the volleys being fired at units as you can with the cannons being fired. Naval battle is completly awesome. The ships take damage and you see bits of wood flying everywhere and massive holes in the ship. Everything is destructable if hit. When boarding a enemy ship, the battle is good too. Much like land battles but it's units from two ships going at it. Pretty cool.

Units can go in buildings. I gotta say I am really impressed with the game and willing to even remove all my TW games if space is ever a issue.

I played it a little bit last week at my buddy's place. Awesome.

The sheer amount of micromanagement is a bit of a pain, but also kind of rewarding. :P

Oh, and the Huron Confederacy is so going down. Nobody messes with my British territory of Rupert's Land! Those furs are mine, god damn it! XD

I wish you had to deal with the revolutionary war in that game's grand campaign, so I could answer Patrick Henry's famous quote "Give me liberty, or give me death" with death to everyone who opposed his Majesty's Army in the thirteen colonies.

I'd invade the Thirteen Colonies from Canada, and make them part of Canada. :P

Its easy to take the Thirteen Colonies in that game, all you need to do is crush New France, the Cherokee Nation and I think kill the Iroquois, and the Thirteen Colonies will join the United Kingdom again. then you can kill everyone in Texas, and out on the Great plains and then sweep into India and kill everyone there too. god am I a violent person...

The three territories that you have to capture are Georgia, Cherokee Territory (That is the name of the region), Quebec.

If you are starting as Britain, I would build up a military at Moose Factory (Name of region) because the Huron Confederacy will attack you first. Destroy them and take there lands and save the military you used on them at Moose Factory as you will need them to attack Quebec. Build up a new and more professional army when you can afford it after upgrading your economic buildings at the south island in America. I forget the name of it. It is the only island that trains Colonial Line Infantry.

Transport them by ship to Georgia and take it and hold your ground. From there on you will have a really big battle with the Cherokee, they have numbers on there side so you will have to keep on Geogrian lands and keep defending off there attacks unti'll they are weak enough. Than take florida. Rebuild your army at Georgia and take the attack to the Cherokee and take the land that is needed to get the Thirteen Colonies than take the last Cherokee land.

During the middle of you're campaign against the cherokee, Quebec should have declared it's indapendance from France and you are free to attack them with the army you have at Moose Factory without going to war with France.

By this time you should have taken out both the Huron Confederacy, the Cherokee and Quebec + there lands and gained the Thirteen Colonies as well. This is a large ammount of land that you need to develope so it's going to take a lot of money to develope them.

Though in a little while you should have gained enough income that passed your army upkeep so you can train a new army or two. Either you can continue the battle in America and attempt to take over land there or take the battle to Europe.

IMO since all the countries in America are near you in Europe. I would train one Army in Britain and one Army in America. Leaving you with three armies in America to conquer with.

Because France or Spain will most likely attempt to take Britain of it's defense is lacking.

You will also want to aquire ring bayonettes early. They are the ones that allow your soldiers to keep them equiped even when firing. They prevent your soldiers from getting slaughterd by the American tribes with there axes. Giving them better defense value and better melee value.
