It's the towing capacity that's gonna be hard to find. Even most half ton trucks only have a tow rating around 7 to 8 k and that's the sticker capacity. You'd only be able to tow up to 5500 lbs, anything over that would only be safe to tow over a short distance. Mind you if it's for a trailer most ultra lights are under that weight provided you stay under 29 feet and tow them dry.

Just use a weight distributing hitch. For half-tonne trucks and SUVs you should use one for any trailer over 5000 pounds, for cars, vans, small SUVs, etc you should use one for any trailer over 4000 pounds. Not only do you maximise you load capacity, but you keep your vehicle and trailer completely level, improving drivability dramatically.

Was never much a fan of minivans. Sure they are great in seating lots of passengers, however for the average handyman who ownes a home and needs lots of carry room in the back, a pickup truck is best. Most double cab pickup trucks seat 6 comfortably, and you have room in the back to carry ladders, top soil, cement, hardwood flooring boxes ...etc). Whatever you need around the house. Not to mention carrying my kids bike to the park and the perfect vehicle for tailgate parties. It is a great vehicle for the average family with 2 kids.

Which is my rant again. I DON'T WANT a pickup truck with 4 doors that seats 6.
I want a pickup truck like my old RAM 50 with 4wd, a little room behind the seats for storage, 4WD, a diesel and a box that's useful.
I own a little Mitshubishi Minicab, the damn box on that is bigger and more useful than 90% of the full size ones I see today. But I can barely squish into the cab of it.

F-350, extended cab, 8 foot box. Nice ride, but a fucking boat trying to manoeuvre in some places, the 4wd certainly doesn't help in that aspect. But it does what I want it to do, and that's what I bought it for.

Nice truck. I assume you have a diesel. Added bonus would be the dually. I've seen some real nice F-350 Dually's that have been lifted 4.5" and 6".

Yes, but no duals. They would add to stability towing a trailer, but aside from that there actually isn't much benefit. The difference in tow ratings is only a thousand pounds and I can already carry 3500 pounds in the bed vs 3700 for duals. And they're just too cumbersome to drive on a daily basis.

Also, lifted Duallies are pointless, IMO. The point of duals it to tow or haul a lot of weigh. The moment you modify the truck you destroy those capacities and make you truck useless. Sure it looks cool, but why spend that much on a vehicle to never use it for it's intended purpose? I'd be like buying a Corvette and putting a Rumble seat in the thing so you can drive your kids to church on sunday.

Offroading with a dually, now there's a real good idea. That'll work well.

That's why I also keep the old Bush Pig F250. Complete rustbucket POS but it starts and nothing will stop it. And the 460 V8 throws out heat - That's why it gets insurance in the winter and the minicab doesn't. Can't even defrost the windshield in that thing.
