You have completely missed my point, btw. I said, a LONG time ago, before this topic was dragged back from the dead, that when roads were constructed, it would have been VERY easy to put emergency phones in place. Like, 50 years ago. Every 5 kms or something. Emergency phones that re-direct you immediately to the nearest emergency post (9-11 call center).
In Europe, they are there along the highways every 500 meters, if I remember correctly. Could be 2 kms too. Walking distance tho.

Sweetheart, LIVING is dangerous, so really, don't give me that crap.
Then again, as long as the city-slickers have everything they need, who cares about the rest? Right? Out of city limits, your easily accessible water is gone. Even if it is a meter. Sewer? Easily accessible, but not for everyone.

Anyway, water is NOT a right.

Btw, welfare does NOT provide enough funding for food.

5 KM? So you could still be two and a half km away from one. Tell me how long does it take to walk 2.5 km? In snow? Probably about
Brenda Brenda:
another hour to get in reach of a phone

Good for them. That's easier for them to do. It's not really all that viable here.

So when it's your life in danger, it matters, when someone else is dying, don't give you that crap.

Cool.

No it isn't. My Aunt and Uncle have lived out in the country for 20 years. Water still isn't that hard to come by out there, fucking every farmer has a well out there.

And if you're so worried, like I said, YOU pay for the SAT phone. If you're so concerned about you and your families well being, do something about it. Don't fucking bitch about it on an internet forum.

Btw, welfare does NOT provide enough funding for food.

The basic Social Assistance for BC for a single employable person is 7320 dollars a year. That's enough for food.

So when they can do it for a profit, then it is fine, but when the profit gets a little down, it is not fine? Cool.

Yep. Hardcore right winger, aren't you. You have to dig it first, you know. "Figure it out yourself, you stupid, or get out".

$375/mo.

Actually, yes. They don't have to provide the service to remote areas if they don't want to.

Not demanding a company spend an extremely large amount of money so that people who get into car accidents on remote roads can call 911 makes me an extreme right winger?

Are you high?

That's just the shelter allowance. There is another 235 dollars on top of that. Coming out to 7320 per year.

To put some emergency phones up is spending an "extreme amount of money" when you are putting up high ways (that are used by truckers on a daily basis... Where snow is a regularity and accidents are the order of the day)?
How about just not put up those highways then? THAT costs a lot of money, and no one is entitled to it anyway!

Anyway, I would love to see you pay your rent and utilities (AND FOOD) from $600/mo. Btw, before you start bitching, I said there was a $375 FOOD allowance. Which is not enough to get you through the month either.

IMO, $375 per month is plenty for a single employable person for food.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is extremely expensive, though my statement was for cell towers. For the emergency phones, to put every 5 KM throughout the entire country, would cost a ridiculous amount of money to service very few people.

Oh and those truckers? They probably have sat phones.

Actually it is. Unless you suck at shopping. I lived on my own for 5 years and was able to spend about 70 dollars a week on food. What's 70 X 4? Less than 375.

Also, if you could actually read, I said that welfare isn't enough to live on, but it's enough for food. Meaning complete welfare.

Ah, so now you are backing down and say that $600 is enough to feed oneself, just not to house oneself.
I doubt anyone can feed themselves, 3 meals a day, and drink, for $12/day. In the middle of nowhere, too, where everything is more expensive than at the big discount stores in the city.

Btw, thank you for the compliment. Being called a bitch by you made my day.

I'm actually not backing down, because you aren't capable understanding basic English, or you can't read I'll explain. Back a while ago I said welfare was enough to feed yourself, but not live on. Welfare, in it's entirety.

And yes, it is quite possible to do. It all comes down to what you buy, if you buy shit that isn't necessary, it clearly isn't going to last.

And thank you for ignoring all of my arguments. I take it you've no conceded defeat. Have a nice day.

You don't have to. You didn't make any. You were all high and mighty with your "you are wrong", while you in the meantime use another amount of money than I do, which I clearly pointed out.

Still, no one in this country has a right to clean water or shelter. But they do to food. Whatever.

Oh so I have to go by what you say?

Okay. You're still wrong. As I've already made clear. But you won't accept or admit it, so you're not worth the time.

You're right, it's not expressly written that they don't have that right.

See how easy that was? Must be a woman thing.

No one has to go by what I say. But if you try to dispute what I say, you might do so, and not come up with your own numbers.

You can really stop your general attacks. It's childish.
