I need to find something other than smoking to pass the time when I am bored.

I got a good idea!
Charge sales tax on Nicorettes and patches and quit smoking aids. Ban e-cigarettes because they might use nicotine. Force people trying to quit to buy packages of 25 or more.
And for God's sakes don't let any quit smoking aids be covered by your medical plan and make sure to start a groundswell to cut smoker's right off medicare. I mean SHIT they don't pay a nickel in extra taxes, why should they get cancer treatment for free?
Follow it all up by making Charter Rights for junkies, criminals, AIDS carriers and people who can only gibber like a coyote and dress in gunny sacks. Then you can discriminate against smokers and fat people legally.

Wait a couple months. On week 5 of 8 of a Patch routine. Not entirely sure if I'll be done smoking for good afterwards, but I can at least see myself succeeding this time

Good luck, I think I'm going to try e-cigs.

It's not just the nicotine, it's the habit.

So your offended that someone is pointing out to you "if you buy this product these kind of things can be the outcome". Just think about that for a second....

It's pretty much on the same level of pregnant women being hit over the head with a laundry list of things that can go wrong with your child if you drink when they go into a liquor store.

You have zero sympathy from a lot of people and really you should almost thank them for that.

Indeed. Even with the Patch I have been using an e-cig with 0mg Nicotine. Every once in awhile I start getting a deep in the gut hankering, after a few puffs off the e-cig they go away.

If I struggle after finishing the patch, I'm hoping the e-cig continues to work. If it stops, I'll get some actual Nicotine juice and hopefully that will suffice.

I actually cheated for 1 day after the first week. I had some Cigs leftover, so I decided to just smoke them. The only thing I noticed was that I started coughing and continued coughing during that day. The way I felt or the flavour just wasn't as expected at all. In the past after a week or so the first cig tasted good and there was a good feeling with it as well, this time there was nothing like that.

I did notice a couple other things. The first has to do with appetite. When I get hungry now, I get so fucking hungry. It actually hurts at times. I have started eating a little more often and that is helping, before I could go all day feeling hungry, but could easily ignore it. This kinda worries me the most since weight gain is so common among ex-smokers. Now I understand why. :D

Second is Sleepiness. Again, I could go all day before, even late towards 20 hours awake and as long as I had coffee when I woke up, I'd be in decent shape. Now after 8-12 hours I am nodding off, sometimes really harshly catching myself falling over. I tried having an evening coffee, but that seemed too much. Been using an evening tea for a few days now and that seems much better.

Which e-cig do you use, and do you get the kickback and throat rush like from a real smoke ?

I got mine 18 months ago and never really used it until now. It was from here
I got the 510 kit, but I see they no longer recommend it, so try the recommended one.

It does feel like smoking, but it varies, meaning it is inconsistent for me. The type of juice determines how it feels vs how much smoke is produced. There will be all the info you'll need somewhere on that website. Most of my info is going to be outdated by now. ;)

This place allegedly sells E-Juice with Nicotine to Canadians. I have never tried them out though, so I can't verify whether they do or if there's some kind of catch doing so. I suppose it might be owned by Natives or something, I dunno.

Don't go off the high dose patches till "you're" ready. I tried it their way and ended up smoking as soon as I went to the lower dose. But, after reading an article by the Ontario Medical Association that said stay on the patch as long as you need to because it's still better than smoking. I tried it.

I stayed on the high dose patch for 2 months and the medium dose patch for 3 week and when I went to go down to the low dose, I forgot to change the patch over one day and discovered I didn't even need it.

So good luck and like I said. Stay on the patch as long as you need to.

It doesn't work.

It didn't work before

It won't work in the future.

Just more stupidity of the nanny state.

The statistics disagree with you.

Smoking rates are on the steady decline and have been dropping for the last 25 years.

While these packages are only part of the program to deter people from smoking, the fact that Canadians are smoking less speaks to the effectiveness of the various anti-smoking campaigns.

My local grocery store quits smoking as well. Better yet, they stop selling it. I am sure that has another reason, but fact is, they are only selling what's left in stock and are not ordering new.
