Well, I agree! We already have 250 for everything not local, and I can tell you, local reaches 10 square kms here  that is 1 town

I remember when I was a kid, 5 or 6, maybe 7 years old, we didn't even use 7 digits. For local calls we just used five. The prefix here is 699, but we got away with dialing 9-1234, or whatever the phone number was. |

mtbr mtbr: coming to Alberta this September. Actually it starts in Alberta today too, but the system will still connect you with a warning. Septmeber 8th it goes to mandatory 10 digit dialing. |

'Town' had dial phones where you only had to dial four (or five?) digits. Mum and I went to the 'city' once and tried to call my cousin. After a number of tries, we asked for help from a passerby and were told we had to dial all seven digits! |

LOL I was kinda surprised when I got here it was only 7 digits  I had to dial 10 digits since 1995 or something My bankaccount nr has 7 digits here... People are surprised I remember it because it is such a long number

I think kiddies should stay home with their parents until getting a steady job. No cell phones, no fax, no SMS or any technological crap. In my old days I used to be the only one in the phonebook with a strange lastname, but now it has been infested. |
