Say what you will about Moe's business practices and ethics but I had him as an MLA for a number of years and even though I hate the NDP with a passion, I can honestly say I liked Moe as a person.

At that time he at least he fought for his constituents and was the only one to go around door to door and talk to people face to face to see what their bitches were.

But then the problems started and it was exactly like my wife said, Moe was great in opposition, but he was never meant to be in charge and as soon as you put him in power it went to his head.

Given what's going on now it would appear that Moe's still in charge and still thinks he's a king maker like he was with Clark's Government.

It's their bed and they are going to lie about it no doubt. However, Moe is a ruthless one. The NDP would do well to have him as the leader but I doubt he would be foolish enough to take it. That's what they need more then ever right now is someone to get the party back in line before it spins apart. I suspect that somehow the NDP will once again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and give the Liberals yet another majority.


Moe has waaaaay too much baggage to be anything more than the man behind the curtain.



His baggage is lighter then James leadership. She was a disaster! Also, his baggage has the flip side of giving clout through name recognition. It's the old devil you know over the devil you don't know with whoever gains the reins with the liberals. Say what you want about Moe though, the people he has close to him are very loyal. He would be a very hard opponent, much more then Ujjal Dosanjh was.

That may be, and I've met Moe and I liked him. He was my MLA as well. But he does have a lot of baggage. The only thing going for him as a leadership possibility is the fact he's been out of the public arena for quite a while and BC voters often have short memories - ahem - Bill Vanderzalm.
