Yet, Ontarians didn't seem all that impressed with the cons, since they didn't re-elect Eves.

Uhhh, Eves wasn't technically elected, it was an inter-election appointment. However Harris won the 1995 and 1999 elections with a majority govt. So Ontarians didn't seem to object to Harris' plan of cut backs.
Eves OTOH, had all the personality of a wet leaf of lettuce. That was his major problem.

WEll, relax. Sooner or later enough shit will stick to the Libs that the "throw the bums out" voices will dominate. Personally I think y'all would be better off then putting in a Bill Davis type conservative than some firebrand that will just flame out.

Yeah, it's already been 12 years of bullshit, corruption, ineptness and gross mismanagement led by a Premier who ran away from his job when the shit was going to hit the fan because he couldn't get that 3rd majority govt. I'm not holding my breath for a change anytime soon.

For the vast majority of Ontarians, it's true.

People don't want to hear of job cuts, they'd rather hear of a 12.5 billion dollar hole in a budget that has to be found and wonder if they may or may not lose their job.

Ontario likes someone who talks around the truth or just fucks you when you bend over.

It would sure help if the PCs would field a viable candidate. I think that the last one, a natural libertarian, thought that "naturally, everyone's else will want to be libertarian because I'm right and I'm obviously so sensible."

Well, libertarians are out on the fringe in Canada and will certainly remain there, probably for ever. The PCs were so caught up in wanting to be Northern Republicans that they've lost touch with those she would otherwise vote for them.

I see the same sort of this scenario evolving down in the States where the Republicans have become so sure of the righteosness of their message that they don't notice how they are creeping away from that voting Middle America.
