Okay, besides all serving members of the military on this site, we can now add all police! "Piggy wiggy", hopefully you will never need their assistance, as it might just change your anti-everythingnotsupportedbyAvro mindset!
Cupe bitching about something, will wonders never cease!

I personally have no problem with a plan that would reward police, firefighters and paramedics with an early retirement! They put their lives on the line every time they report to work. Tell me, other than in the US, how dangerous is it to be a postie in Canada? How many get killed every year just doing their job?

You, on the other hand, launched right into your flaming ways with derogatory comments about "piggy wiggy". You seem to have a lot of anger issues with the police, the serving members of the military, conservatives, George Bush, republicans or anyone who doesn't subscribe to your beliefs! Why the anger towards cops? Please fill us in, if you can quantify your anger I will personally apologize for any comments I've made of you! 8O If not, I will continue to "call it like I see it!"

See, I've played your game, responded in kind to your request. Let's see if you will be so kind as to reciprocate, but I'm betting you won't!

I noticed that you avoided explaining about your anger towards police, interesting. But because you seem to be unable to read into what I wrote and take everything literally, I will expand on my statement. Police, firefighters and healthcare workers, but still nothing extra for the posties!

I await your next post where you will pick out another deserving worker(maybe janitors?) and still avoid explaining why you have an unbridled anger towards the police.

The janitor comment is not directed at all janitors, just the ones who claim some sort of moral superiority because he volunteerd at some shelter once!

I fail to understand how you came to the conclusion that I oppose the bill, but I tire of you not explaining your anger towards police.

By the way it is separate, not seperate. I guess public schooling didn't work for you, or maybe spell check is not up and running!

I think people who clean up after the rest of us should receive special consideration......if you had to clean the bathroom after 1000 people used it, wouldn't you want special consideration?

Wouldn't it piss you off if you had to pay an extra 3% on your property tax to pay for someone else's pension and then go clean up after that person?

Taxes should not be spent on pensions......Deductions from police's pay should pay for police's pensions.....deductions from janitor's pay should pay for janitor's pensions.........Using taxes to pay peoples pensions just pisses me off!

I'm suprised a conservative would be supporting such a communist-like plan.....

Should lower paid workers subsidize the higher paid ones?.

If you don't like the "inequity" of it all Avro, then by all means, do something about it.

You could lobby your union to seek the same benefits for other municipal employees.

Or you could try this;

Go back to school.

Upgrade your education.

Sit through about a thousand aptitude and psychological tests (good luck passing the latter Avro!)

Sit through about a thousand interviews.

Get in shape so you can pass the physical tests.

Pass a background check where everyone from your landlady to your high school gym teacher is going to be interviewed about you.

Drop $8000 and go live in Aylmer for 3 months with 400 other aspiring coppers.

Successfully complete a year's probation.

Then you'd earn the priveledge of;

Working nights, Christmas, New Years, etc,

Getting Spat at by drunks and bled on by junkies,

Breaking up fights involving violent drunks in bar rooms as the entire bar shouts and throws things at you,

Pulling over a car with 4 violent criminals on board on some dark, lonely stretch of the 401 when your nearest back up is 20 minutes away,

Having seconds to make life and death decisions at 3 am that will be picked apart over the course of months by lawyers and judges in the sterile, comfortable surroundings of a court room,

Spending lot's of your days off in court,

Reading newspaper stories critical of something you did, written by people who weren't even there when it happened, have no understanding of the context of the situation, and don't even like you because they resent what you stand for,

Getting to smile politely as you listen to some clown tell you a donut/cop joke you've heard 5 million times before everytime you go into Tim Horton's for a bottle of water, a sandwich or a coffee,

Getting to spend 4 hours doing paperwork on the end of a 12 hour night shift, when you can barely keep your eyes open, over a stupid fucking domestic dispute between two hopeless drunks. And knowing that within in week, you'll be dealing with the same pair all over again,

Jumping over guard rails to avoid out of control cars that are coming at you at an accident scene or vehicle stop.

Getting to stand on someone's doorstep and tell them that their teenage son was killed in a car accident,

Getting to explain to a crime victim why the person who robbed/assaulted/raped/burgled them etc. is being set free on a technicality by some out of touch, lunatic judge.

Lot's of people have tough jobs, true. Cops have one that's tougher than most. They deserve to be compensated well for that. The government seems to agree.

If you feel other people deserve it too, then have your union make the case to the government and use the collective bargaining process to get it for yourselves, just like the emergency services workers did.

But don't just whine because somebody's getting something you're not.

You really are a whinging suck sometimes Avro.

Teachers get 2% and they are highly educated.

So? Teachers don't have to work shifts, suffer needlestick injuries, walk into crowded boozecans when somebody's just been shot, or chase assholes over fences and through people's backyards at three o'clock in the morning. This bill recognizes that kind of job is a young man's game.

Negotiate through collective bargainning you say, well this bill caps any increase at 1.7% of 1.33% so it will do little good.

As I said before, if CUPE thinks that the mumblies who mop floors should get similar benefits, then they should make their case and lobby the government for similar compensation.

Don't be petulant and whinge just because you're jealous that someone else got something you didn't.

As far as the union doing something about it.......wait for it.

Good. It'll be fun watching Sid Ryan and Leah Casselman take everyone out on an illegal strike. I'm sure that'll gain strong public support.

It'll just prove to Ontarians that OPSEAU and CUPE are total malcontents. They didn't like Bob Rae, they didn't like Mike Harris, they didn't like Ernie Eves, and now they hate the cops, firemen and Dalton Mcguinty.

Wow Avro, another example of liberal respect and tolerance for others. Piggies obviously an original name for police. Another low standard of tolerance set by a liberal apologist!
