All right. These are in no real order... Myself and Jake. On the end of the paddle are a pair of shorts we found in the river, from a distant past. More train bridge. Jake went swimming, in all his clothes... Jake getting back in the canoe was rough... Danielle in the water. Over Jake's shoulder. Steering action. Taken by Jake. Danielle on the rope. These are in a series...it wouldn't swing for me. Now, the evening. Jesse and I give what for to the ceder. I caught a frog and named him Frankie. It was a good day out on the river. Really hot, got myself a good sunburn. Tomorrow I think I'm going camping. Swank. |

I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I wanted this week. Mostly because I had forgotten my camera and had to paddle back to the car to get it. Along with the flashlight. Me being a drunk goofball. Our Fire. The Gang. Jesse and Jason. Its near our camping spot. Venus...sorta. |

Sooooo... on March sixth I totally went canoeing with my bud Mike. Apparently it's still icy in places; who knew? To be fair I wanted to be on the water in January when I saw that it had opened up a little. So here are pictures. The ice has broken up a lot at the point of the Hammond I live on, but I want to launch up stream and take some pictures of the bigger chunks of ice that are still on the shore. Launch point bridge: (this is also the last photo I took) How we launched involved smashing: The corner to go up river: (if you turn left from the launch you can go up, but it's frozen) Canoe: Down river/Up River: (sounds weird, but it's true) The concrete bridge: Ice on the marshy bank: (the water lapped at the ice here in a way that produce a sound that I still cannot identify) So yea. Back on the river. Sorry dial up; if you still exist. |

martin14 martin14: :) Thanks for the pics Lightstarr. My Dad used to go eel fishing in the Hammond.. back in the 70's What part of the river is this ? It's the side that borders the Kennebecasis and Darlings Island -- basically heading up to Hampton without going through the lake; during the summer it is a maze of marshy madness. It would appear I started this thread years ago when I was worse at spelling. I feel my age is showing. Nerd alert -- unless this changes my post count -- my post count is 1337. I loled. |
