Post subject:  Trip to New Brunswick

My family is driving to New Brunswick for our vacation this year. I have my heart set on going to the Bay of Fundy in the hopes of doing some whale watching. Does anyone have any suggestions for some good places to go to and/or to camp at?

As a former resident of NB, and I will be leaving for eastern NB next month, I suggest going to the Bay of fundy, especially area like Fundy National park and Hopewell Cape.

For whale watching, may I suggets going to St. Andrews-by-the-Sea. Nice spots to camp and sight see. There are charters for whale watching, and to enjoy the beaches.

Try Grand Maman Island as well. Worth a look!!!

I suggest the Shediac and Bouctouche area. If you like the ocean, then this is where you should be. There's the ' Dune of Bouctouche ' which is really breath taking. Shediac is known for its 'Parlee Beach'.

For camping, canoeing and hiking, Mount Carleton Provincial Park is excellent.

Thanks everyone for the responses and great ideas!! There is so much to do, we had a hard time narrowing it down!! We're starting out in the "chocolate town" of St Stephen....and then spending a couple days on Grand Manan Island to do some camping, go on a whale watching tour and check out a beach that has magnetic sand. Then we're off to Lower Cape for a few days, to check out the Hopewell Rocks and go sea kayaking. On our way back home we're spending a night in St Andrews and going to a marine museum.

It should be a great trip....and I think I'm as excited as I was last year when we went to Las Vegas to see the UFC fight!!
