Ok guys, I need your help for a tough decision.

Vancouver to Calgary to Edmonton

Vancouver to Edmonton to Calgary

Ok no matter which way we do it is only a difference of a few hours. However, the drive in option 2 look seems much more scenic. However, with option 2 we always would not be going through Saskatoon.

The first option is way better for several reasons, although at Saskatoon, you should take Hwy 11 (I think) to Regina, then take the TCH into the 'Peg. Faster and divided highway to whole way from Edmonton.

The drive from Calgary to Winnipeg sucks, mostly because the TCH isn't all that great between Medicine Hat and Regina.

If you got to Calgary first, you'll travel on more two lane divided highway (like an interstate) from Lake Louise all the way to the 'Peg, which makes it easier to get around slow RVs and semis.

The Calgary first route also lets you stop if you want at any number of 'famous' scenic sights along the way, like Lake Louise, Takkakaw Falls, etc.

Nawww he wants to go to Hastings park...at that time his best bet is to hit the number 1...if not he is criss crossing across to get to the Exhibition Park. And the aldergrove bitch guards are uber assholes cuz they have nothing better to do...truck crossing they are more concerned about transports.

dont listen to Shep he is sunburnt and delirious

Looking at a map...it is the same Hastings park that is literally a block from Playland?

Oh shit! I just want to leave right now. I hate waiting...but then again Ive been waiting to ride these coasters for the last 12 years...I can wait a few more days.

I am going to feel really bad for rushing through Vancouver. I wish my friend wouldn't be so cheap and take off one more day so that way we can take our time.

You could probably find side street parking but it is 5 bucks if not....I do have a friend that lives two blocks from there and she would let you park in the back...she rides a bicycle...just pm me and if you need I could hook you up.

Oh I way too excited for you!!!! Coasters and Skating!!!...if you just had time for Tofino you could throw in Surfing!!! OMG...that would be heaven...ok I do that quite frequently...breathe

I always wanted to surf on the Pacific Ocean.

The only thing I can do around here is Wakeboard and Wake surf behind the boat

Not me, but you get the idea

Looking at this map...it really screams "North American Domination". We were also thinking of calling it the "rim job" since were doing everything around the rim.
*Forgot Calgary*

Thanks for the offer! I will talk to my friend and see what he wants to do. And I will PM you before the weekend.

I've gone diving there and as far north as the Beaufort Sea(under the sea ice with a dry suit). As a kid I swam in the Baltic, when visiting family in Sweden. That water can make one's nipples stiff enough to etch glass.

@Coaster
Why do you want to go to Winnipeg?

Good Surfing there....if I can dive there I will. If I can etch glass afterwards...well it is an artistic adventure

It cant be that bad. I have gone wakeboarding when it was 45F/7C outside. See for me its not the water temp, its the air temp. If the air is warm, the water could be almost freezing for all I could care.

I do the polar bear plunge every year for charity, and its not that cold
The shock keeps you from feeling the cold. This year it was -6C and they had to auger the ice.

Now...I know what you guys are thinking.

But, see coaster enthusiasts have a thing called "credits". It is a way to measure how many different roller coasters you have been on. It is kind of a competition to see how many "credits" you have and how many rare credits you have. Every park on this trip is a rare credit (in terms of American Coaster Enthusiasts).

And our group of coaster enthusiasts is probaly the coolest ones out there. Honestly, all the other enthusiasts are really creepy and very nerdy...most of them still live with there parents at the age of 50.

And there are many other sub-groups/websites out there.

It isnt that bad in Tofino...we wear suits to ward of hypothermia...I am going in September to Tofino and then down to Seaside. I cant wait...I prefer storm season but I am going with friends that have never surfed before....they are not going to be impressed with me...I stay out all day and will ride any wave I can get. Tuff city and Jordan River...great spots here...In Tofino I will be going by boat, never have done it, to the grave yard...scary shit, it takes down boats....surfers die. I cant wait!!! been training all year for this....if I go down and dont make it...at least I tried. Oh hell I will make it...I am uber confident!!!
