Post subject:  Vancouver Canucks - 2013
Well, the preseason was a bust and with Bettman and the NHLPA still not willing to see eye to eye on anything, who knows if there will be a 2012/2013 NHL season at all. The Canucks first game is scheduled for 11 Oct in Calgary and that definitely isn't going to happen, when or if the Canucks play their first game of the season is dependant on two groups whose only interest is (in the long run).....MONEY! It would seem neither group really gives a damn about the millions of hockey fans throughout Canada who are soon going to be going through withdrawal pains!

What the Hell are the sports channels and CBC going to be broadcasting with no hockey? We are now being inundated by numerous Poker programs thanks to the last NHL labour dispute, what are they going to come up with this time? I have heard there are going to be some broadcasts of some KHL league games, but that still isn't the NHL.

So, hopefully sometime in the near future both sides will come to some sort of an agreement and life will be able to return to normal.

Maybe the sports channels will show re-runs :lol: Like along the lines of "On this day in 19XX (or 20XX)"...

I guess I'll be watching more shows and movies on Netflix in the evenings instead over the winter months.

I'd be impressed if the two sides can get it together to at least play a half-season this year. It sucks for the fans (especially the armchair ones like us) and for the trickle-down effect it has on supporting industries that supply and service not only the arenas but the bars, restaurants, etc.

Nothing we can do but wait and see...

ESPN3 is going to broadcast KHL.

The Canucks schedule for 2013 is now set. They open their season at home Saturday night vs Anaheim, then play the Oilers Sunday.
