I don't know about today's "hip lingo", but being called a used car salesman always was an insult. Pretty much means you're a greedy, lying scumbag who'd sell your own mothers wheelchair while she was using it. I could be mistaken though.

I had bigger things happening in my life to deal with.

Besides, I never really got into this season in general anyway and honestly the result was not a surprise at all, I'm sorry to say. C'est la vie.

I still think Luongo is not the problem, rather it is the disappearance of certain skilled players when it matters most. This is a team that will not have any playoff success without a drastic change and Luongo is not the change needed.

Luongo is a distraction. The mentality in the room plays a huge role. When all the guys have a player they know wants to leave and really isn't happy with his situation, there's always tension.

I'd also consider a coaching change.

Things might have been different if Luongo played Games 3 & 4, but the risk of a bad game would've negated any trade value for him.
They need to address size & strength to get that puck off the boards and into play. And goal scorers - who aren't Swedes! Canuck fans are tired of screaming SHOOT THE FUCKING PUCK since the Gradin days.

In fact, it’s been the modus operandi for successful playoff teams more often than not for simply generations. And has been as clear as day to anyone specifically following this team since the flame out Stanley Cup loss to Boston two years ago.

We'll see on draft day how serious this talk of a "reset" is. Gillis sits on his hands again, and you'll hear a massive thump from the West coast as feet land from a jump off the bandwagon is my prediction.

Agreed. I'm surprised the Canucks did as well as they did during the regular season with that albatross around the team's neck. It was inexcusable that they didn't have that squared away during the lockout.

Always the coach's fault... thing is, maybe he did the best with the players he had. If anybody here knows for a fact that they would have done or they'd do better with another coach, I'm sure most of the NHL teams would pay you a fortune in consulting fees. :lol:

I don't think a coaching change is necessary, but it'll probably happen. The biggest distraction the Canucks had was the hockey media. Those dimwitted morons could only talk about Luongo and Shnides this year and it was pretty clear by the way the two men were with each other, there was no tension. You could really see that after games through out the season. There was no issue at least as far as they were concerned. There probably was a little stress at the trade deadline when Gillis couldn't get a trade done for Luongo. It was clear Roberto was frustrated cause he is a #1 goalie and wants to play, understandable. It probably wasn't a help that they hung him out to dry in that last game against Edmonton. That was stupid coaching, but did that destabilize the team? probably not, too many veterans.

That team lacks leadership and like H said, the killer instinct. Sedins don't play in the playoffs, they get you to the big dance, but are wall flowers once it starts. Kesler can't carry the team by himself as he tried to do, no one went with him so it looks as though he isn't Captain material either. They need a real leaders like LA, Boston, Pittsburg and Chicago have. A couple of those guys and the tallent they have already, they would be a true cup contender that few could match.
