Remembering Brian Burke, I'd like to point out to the officials that Leon Draisaitl does not play for the Oshawa Generals, it just looks that way because he has 2 or 3 white sweaters hanging off him all the time.

Kelowna came close in the third and dominated the play for the most part. Two posts and a couple missed open nets will always come back to bite ya. I hope those two teams face each other again on Sunday.

4-0 for Rimouski after 2, I heard today, but wasn't paying attention really, that, if one of these teams win by 8 there's no tiebreaker and the Rockets are done for. I think they were talking about Rimouski.

I could be right out to lunch tho.

Another total crap-shoot with 3 teams being tied for 2nd place. Anyone care to try figuring out the format for a 3-way tie.......

MasterCard Memorial Cup Tie-Breaking Information

$1:
(1) In the event three teams should tie for the final playoff place position, at the conclusion of the single round robin series of games, the game each team played against the first place team shall be removed from their records. The tie breaking formula shall be as follows: Add each team’s goals for with their goals against which sum you divide into such team’s goals for. The team with the highest percentage gains the higher position in the standings and an automatic berth as home team in the semi-final game. The remaining two teams shall play a sudden-death game with the winner to advance to the semi-final game. The home team in the sudden-death game will be the team that won the round robin game between the two teams.

(2)In the event that after using the above mathematical exercise all three teams should still remain tied, the game each team played against the first place team shall be added to their records. The same formula from 2 (i) will be applied to finalize the rankings of the three teams.

(3)In the event that two teams shall tie for a playoff position, other than the final playoff spot, the game between the two teams in the round robin shall determine the higher ranked team.

Tonight has the Remparts playing Rimouski. Friday has the Rockets playing a team to be determined while Sunday has the final with the Oshawa Generals playing a team to be determined.

I don't think I've ever seen a team give up clear cut break aways like the Rockets do.

What did the ugly Quebec hockey fan throw on the ice? I missed all of the second period, but they brought it up during the Mcdavid interview.

Ok, I thought it was something like a full can of beer or something, the way the panel was going on.

They may have given up quite a few break-aways, but in nearly every other aspect of the game the Rockets completely dominated the Remparts, which is obvious when you check the scoreboard! The Memorial Cup final goes Sunday with the Kelowna Rockets vs the Oshawa Generals. If tonight's game is any indication, Sunday's game is going to be the old traditional barn-burner.....
