Shutout Miller!

Regulation Win, still undefeated in Regulation time, and all on the hind end of a Back-to-Back. Not too shabby, err, rather impressive start.

Image Canucks win their 3rd game of the season and Miller records his first shutout of the year, their 7 points also puts them in top spot in the Western Conference! (not that this means anything this early in the new season).......

Vancouver vs St Louis
5

The Canucks begin a five-game home stand tonight at Rogers Arena taking on the defending Central Division champion, St. Louis Blues.

After picking up seven of a possible eight points to start off the season, which included capping off a successful SoCal road trip on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over the Kings, the Canucks now get a chance to enjoy the comforts of home for the next week-and-a-half. Although it may be far too early to start talking about the standings, Vancouver's strong start to the season gives them an opportunity on this extended home stand to start creating some distance between them and their competitors in the ultra-competitive Western Conference.

Despite coming off an impressive victory, the Canucks are expected to make at least one tweak to their line-up with Sven Baertschi coming out in favour of Jared McCann, the latter who was scratched in Tuesday's victory in Los Angeles. The Blues, who lost all three head-to-head meetings against the Canucks last season, are coming off a 4-2 win last night in Edmonton. Former Blue Ryan Miller is expected to start for the Canucks while St. Louis will likely turn to Jake Allen after Brian Elliott went the distance last night.

First Regulation Loss of Season...had to happen eventually. They put in a decent effort to tie it up, but alas it wasn't enough.

Damn, didn't manage to watch the whole game last night....
It seems the acquisition of Brandon Sutter was a good move on the Canuck's part, all he needed was a fight for his Gordie Howe hat-trick. One goal and 2 assists wasn't a bad night for the ex-Hurricane/Penguin! Second star of the game with 4 shots, 2 assists and a goal was well deserved!

Next game is the Canuck's 2nd in a 5 game home stand against the Oilers on Sunday evening.

Vancouver vs Edmonton
6

The Canucks look to get back on the winning track tonight when they host Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena.

There are two ways the Canucks can look at Friday's 4-3 loss to the Blues. On the one hand, they can be proud of the fight they put up after nearly pulling off an improbable late comeback from down 4-1. On the other hand, they can't be too pleased with the fact they let the visitors have their way until there was just three-and-a-half minutes remaining forcing them to stage that furious rally. Vancouver, looking for a better result tonight in a key divisional match-up and looking for their first home win, will make some changes to their line-up when they take on the Oilers in the first of five head-to-head meetings this season.

Based on yesterday's practice, the Canucks will reunite the 'Kid line' of Baertschi-Horvat-Virtanen that had a stellar outing against the Oilers back in pre-season combining for three goals and 10 points on October 1. Jannik Hansen moves up to be the right winger on the Sedin line, while Brandon Sutter reverts back to centre to skate with Alex Burrows and Radim Vrbata. Rookie Jared McCann, who got the Canucks' comeback started on Friday, sat out practice and is officially doubtful for tonight's contest. Ryan Miller was held out of certain parts of yesterday's practice but is expected to start tonight. Look for the Oilers, who are coming off a 5-2 win last night over the Flames, to potentially start Anders Nilsson tonight after Cam Talbot went the distance yesterday.

Hope so, and if they do I hope they do well, cause wouldn't that be fun for the season from a fan standpoint to have a Kid line?

So, 'Go Kids.'
