Vancouver vs Winnipeg 68 The Canucks will try to go from being streak snappers to streak preservers tonight when they welcome the Winnipeg Jets to Rogers Arena. Two nights after successfully snapping another one of the more impressive streaks by an NHL team this season by ending Nashville's 14-game run with a point, the Canucks find the shoe on the other foot tonight. They welcome a Jets team that has not won at Rogers Arena going back to their days as the Atlanta Thrashers having lost six in a row in Vancouver (four in a since relocating to Winnipeg). The Canucks are also looking to keep their overall win streak alive by posting a third consecutive victory, something they've yet to do all season along. The Canucks did not practice yesterday so there are no hints available as to what tonight's line-up will look like. However, it is possible that both blue-liners Chris Tanev and Nikita Tryamkin could slot in. Tanev has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, while Tryamkin took the pre-game skate against Nashville but is still waiting to make his NHL debut. Vancouver vs Colorado 69 The Canucks conclude their four-game home stand tonight when they face the Colorado Avalanche for the third and final time this season. As far as crucial games go, there's not a bigger one than tonight for the Canucks if they want to keep their already-slim playoff hopes alive. The Avs are one of the teams are trying to leapfrog into a post-season position and they sit eight points ahead of the Canucks in the standings but Vancouver holds two games in hand. Vancouver has won the first two head-to-head games this season against Colorado and is looking to sweep the season series against the Avalanche for the first time since the 2011.12 season when they posted an impressive six wins that year over their former Northwest Division rival. Expect a much-different looking line-up for the Canucks tonight after several players went down with injury in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Jets. Look for Nikita Tryamkin to make his NHL debut on the back-end, and for Alex Burrows to return after missing Monday's game with a foot injury. Brendan Gaunce and Andrey Pedan could potentially also get into the line-up as well after they were recalled from Utica (AHL) yesterday. Vancouver at Edmonton 70 The Canucks look to snap their two-game losing skid when they hit the road to take on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. The Canucks may be coming off a loss to the Avalanche on Wednesday but they certainly deserve credit for their compete-level that night especially when icing a line-up that, thanks to a multitude of injuries, resembled something that one would expect in an exhibition game. They won't use injuries as an excuse even though they'll likely be dressing another largely inexperienced line-up again tonight going up against the Oilers, a team that resides in the Western Conference basement but could pull to within a point of the Canucks in the standings with a regulation win. Vancouver will get one bit of positive news on the injury front with Alex Biega expected to return tonight after missing Wednesday's game with an undisclosed ailment. The news is not as good for Jannik Hansen, who was hopeful to return either tonight or tomorrow versus St. Louis but has reportedly suffered a setback and will be unavailable for either contest. Damn. Markstrom's in net. We might win. We need to draft at least 5th for a juicy pick. Right now we're tied for 6th. If anybody knows a Vancouver Canuck get him drunk on April 6. They play Calgary on the 7th. That's the one we need to lose. |

Vancouver vs St. Louis 71 One losing streak will come to an end tonight at Rogers Arena when the Canucks host the St. Louis Blues. It was only a week ago that the idea of making the playoffs suddenly seemed plausible again with the Canucks coming off back-to-back wins while still holding a number of games-in-hand on the teams they are chasing in the standings. Three straight losses later and those thoughts have faded away in a hurry. With that said, coming off a disappointing shutout loss last night in Edmonton, expect the Canucks to be an ornery bunch and intent on avoiding a fourth straight loss which would equal their season-high when they host the Blues. The Blues are in a funk of their own as they bring a two-game losing streak into play tonight. Despite their mini-slump, they're still very much in the conversation to win their division, not to mention the Conference. They begin play today sitting two points behind the Conference-leading Dallas Stars. Ryan Miller will get the start in net for the Canucks, while Brian Elliott returns from injury to try and help the Blues knock off the Canucks for the second time this season.
