Good game. Tense with lots of opportunities.

One of these days Willie's going to teach the kids the trick about how it's OK to put the puck in the net too. Then these other teams will be sorry for all the times they picked on us, boy howdy.

Man the Canucks worked hard, I'm not sure I've seen the Oiler's pressured like the way they were in the last 2 minutes of the second and basically all of the third.

Promise to play like that against the Flames and Ducks R=UP

I thought the call on the McDavid trip in the third, that resulted in a Oiler pp goal was pretty weak, to me it was 2 defenseman squeezing the puck carrier out of the play.

CANUCKS (28-34-9) AT BLACKHAWKS (47-20-5)

Forward Jack Skille will return to the lineup for the Vancouver Canucks, who have lost six straight games (0-4-2). Skille, who missed 12 games because of a groin injury, tested it during an optional morning skate at United Center and said he's ready to go. "It's going to be fun playing in this building," said Skille, who began his NHL career with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2007. "It's always a fun building to play [in] and these guys are always a good team. It's a really big challenge, especially coming off an injury, so I'm just excited to be back in the room with the guys, feeling like I'm part of the team again." It's unclear where Skille will slot into the lineup, but he's expected to start on the fourth line. Michael Chaput is expected to play right wing with Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin in a spot vacated by Markus Granlund, who will have season-ending wrist surgery Friday. Forward Nikolay Goldobin (illness) also skated but is not expected to play. Goalie Ryan Miller is expected to start. The Canucks are 16 points behind the St. Louis Blues for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.

And it's Déjà Vu All Over Again.....when the Canucks played the Hawks back in November they led 3-0 going into the 3rd, only to lose 4-3 in OT. Tonight they led the game 3-1 going into the 3rd only to have Chicago tie it at 4-4 with an empty net goal with 1:03 left to play.

The Canucks take a delay of game penalty at 19:28, but manage to hang on to end the game 4-4. Now heading into a 4-3 OT period with 1:29 left in their penalty.....

Vancouver at St Louis

CANUCKS (29-34-9) at BLUES (39-28-5)

The Vancouver Canucks will get Nikolay Goldobin back after the right wing missed the past six games with the flu; he lost 15 pounds. "I missed a lot of games and I'm excited to be back," Goldobin said. "I'm feeling great better than 10 days ago." Coach Willie Desjardins will play Goldobin on a line with center Brandon Sutter and left wing Jack Skille. "He's got good skill," Desjardins said of Goldobin. "As a player, he's got a good skill level, but it doesn't matter where your skill level is, you just have to be engaged and you have to be willing to play hard. There are some things we're going to want to see out of him. The more he's with us, the more he should get. He has missed a lot with being sick." The Canucks, who will start Ryan Miller in goal for the 13th time in 15 games, are not mathematically eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they trail the Nashville Predators by 16 points for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference with 10 games remaining. Vancouver is 1-4-2 in its past seven games after winning 5-4 in overtime at the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday despite being outshot 44-15. "Our group has played hard," Desjardins said. "The game we probably didn't deserve to win was the Chicago game, but a couple games before that, I think we could have won them."
