Found this guy on Youtube, he does the same breakdown for each team.

I've watched that guy before. He's not my favorite of Canuck fans who do what he does on Youtube but he called it pretty fair in that video.

He was just concerned about this year though. This year is more about building a foundation for what's coming up through the ranks to build on.

And what's coming up is impressive. If you watched the Young Stars tournament this weekend you got a taste of how awesome what's coming can be.

So this year maybe it's best not to get to hopeful, but the farm team should be stacked so we can dare to hope for good reports from Utica and next year these future champions should start to filter in to the big team here in Van.

Finishing in the bottom ten won't be so bad this year. We just need one more good draft and we're ready to start the climb back towards championship battles.

Hey Martin, what did you think of that trade your Habs made with Vegas?

I've been listening to the talking heads chat up the issue. They can't seem to decide who won that one. I've watched that Nick Suzuki kid play. Impressed me.

Tough to say, Tatar wasn't much last year, kids are kids. Sometimes it works,
sometimes it doesn't. Max was a proven top player.

If the Habs are serious abut rebuilding, write this year off and trade
Weber and/or Price, hopefully both. Both are too expensive, and Price is no Roy.
It's the half assedness of Bergevin that will kill this year.
For a team that has massive trouble scoring, obviously the best thing is to trade
away your top scorer.

25 years. Say it like Morgan Freeman in Shawshank........ 25 years.

THG (video above) also has been doing historical videos, a rundown of what happened
each year since 1930 something. Great to watch the historical domination of Montreal,
but it just makes the last 25 years even more painful. :D

P.S. Go Jets !

I'm hyped for the Canucks pre-season. The idea of who goes where and does what at the end of it is more fascinating than usual this year.

We might not be a playoff team this year but lots is going to happen here. We get the World Juniors and the Draft, for starters. And this year I'm almost anticipatory about injuries. I want to see which of the kids come up as replacements. And can they stick?

I'm crossing my fingers as we watch this kid Elias Pettersson develop. He might be elite. Then it will be Petterson and Boeser with more on the way.

Come to think of it, then there's Thatcher Demko. The # 1 goaltender of the future. If he sticks here after the preseason we're that much closer and that's 3 elite players developing up with the big team.

I hear Yzerman might be available soon.

Just kidding. They say if he goes anywhere Detroit's a lock and that makes sense.

But when you first think "Yzerman as the next GM you go hey...Image.

I know I did. :D

Kind of chaotic first.

Still trying to find their feet in the second. Yet there's lots of promising things happening to offer hope for the future. Interesting game so far.

I'm liking Goldobin and Hutton.

Prospects, Pettersson and Dahlen making moves and getting opportunities but no payoff so far.

2-1 for the Oilers with 6 minutes left in the second.

Game 2 of the preseason goes tonight at 7:00pm PT with the Canucks playing host to the Calgary Flames. Last night the Oilers took the game 4-2 with Baertschi and Goldobin scoring for the Canucks, Goldobin on the PP. Newcomer Elias Pettersson showed he has the moves needed to play the game but, at 6'2" and 161 lb he's going to have to add some weight to his frame before he ends up like a squashed bug on the corner boards.

The Canucks lose to Calgary 4-1, having given up 2 goals in the 1st, a SH goal in the 2nd and at 19:59 of the 3rd an EN goal. Vancouver's only goal came half way through the 3rd thanks to Brendan Leipsic. Thursday has the Canucks hosting the LA Kings to end their 3 game home stand.

I didn't mind the first loss against Edmonton because some players showed some stuff in a losing cause, but this one was disappointing.

Adam Gaudette was alright, I guess.

Well, we shall see how they do tonight.

It's only pre-season games so I'm not taking it all too seriously yet.
