Looks like Hyack took the day off so I'll tell you. :)

The Canucks came back from a 3-1 deficit to tie it up and win in a shootout against LA.

If they don't make Horvath team captain soon something is wrong with somebody, somewhere I tell you.

He's come out of the gate like he's ready to carry the rest of the team on his back if he has to.

Agreed, I think Horvat would be a great captain. As for the 'A' I can see it going to Virtanen, Boeser or Baertschi.

I'm hoping Archibald makes the cut this year.

Pettersson is impressive and seemed to play well with Horvat.

Horvat opened the scoring for the Canucks on the PP, the only goal in the 1st, Calgary then scored 3 times in the 2nd, taking a 3-1 lead into the 3rd. Another goal by Horvat and a PP goal by Baertschi in the 3rd tied the score 3-3. The Canucks managed to kill a 2 minute penalty to Goldobin in the 3 on 3 OT period which lead to the Shoot Out. Calgary scored first but another goal by Horvat and one by Goldobin gave the Canucks their first preseason win 4-3. The Canucks next game will be Saturday against the Calgary Flames in Calgary at 6:30pm PT.

Seatle just approved renovations to Key Arena, all private money if they get an NHL team.

Flames better be careful.

In game 5 of the preseason the LA Kings defeated the Canucks 4-1 Monday night in Salt Lake city, the only game of the preseason not to be televised. Sam Gagner was the only scorer for the Canucks, scoring early into the 2nd period. Game 6 of 7 goes tonight with the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Canucks. The game starts at 6:00pm PT.

Of the Canucks 9 goals 5 were on the PP.....The Canucks final preseason game is to be played in Kelowna against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday, 29 Sept at 7:00pm PT.

Calgary at Vancouver

1

Flames (0-0-0) at Canucks (0-0-0)

The Canucks will be playing their first game since the end of the 1999-2000 season without either Henrik Sedin or Daniel Sedin, who retired at the end of last season as the franchise leaders in games played, assists and points.

Vancouver rookie Elias Pettersson, 19, will make his NHL debut after leading the Swedish Hockey League in scoring with 56 points (24 goals, 32 assists) in 44 games last season.

Center Jay Beagle, who was signed as a free agent after winning the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals last season, will also make his Canucks debut.

Pettersson led the Canucks in preseason scoring with six points (one goal, five assists) in five games and will run the top power play unit.

Virtanen missed practice Tuesday with back spasms but is expected to play. Roussel, who was injured before training camp, could return to practice by the end of the week.

Calgary was 4-3-3 in the preseason and won both games against Vancouver. … The Canucks were 1-6-0 in the preseason. They have won four straight season openers.

There was a time I would argue with anybody who came here to say that.

Not this year. Try us next year. Hate to see a Leafs' fan get away without a burn.

But Damnit, your guys are looking good this year. And now you've got Tavares. OMG.

Hope the Jets destroy you. Image

And that's all I got.

Canucks totally freaking rule.

Fixed that for you.

[but]

You do realize that if I really, really, really wanted to I could have just modified your post. But I'm a super nice Canucks fan so I won't do that.

BTW... the Lafs Leafs look good this year.

:P

Elias Pettersson scores his first NHL goal at under the 6 minute mark of the first period in his first game.

Win or lose doesn't look like anybody's going to be pushing the Canucks around this year.

Gudbranson and Beagle already laying down the law.

I like that.

It’s going to be great to watch Ottawa get the first, then have to give that pick to Colorado. The senators fans tears will be exquisite
