No party has released an official platform.

Do the Cons not have a platform? Or is it simply that their plans haven't gotten any attention from the media due to Trudeau's endless gaffes, scandals, and drama-queen bullshit receiving the huge bulk of the press's coverage? The Cons are on the upswing all across the country but anyone not paying deep attention to it wouldn't know about it at all due to most eyes being on the non-stop Liberal trainwreck-in-progress. :?

I haven't seen a Conservative add where they talk about platform. All I've seen is the "family man with his wife and kids" and the "Trudeau... not as advertised" ads.

Thanks to the wonders of AdBlock and not watching anything on any Canadian TV station anymore I somehow manage to stay safe from the harassment of political advertising. wOOt! [cheer]

So, what I'm reading in this thread so far is that there seems to be a consensus among us that what all the parties lack is a strong leader that can generate support.

I'm undecided at this point though I know for sure I will not vote Liberal. My riding has gone Conservative the last 2 elections and quite likely will again this time around though I really don't care for the candidate and have difficulty sending my vote in that direction. The margin of victory went down in 2015 from 2011 with the Liberals coming in 2nd both times so it seems close to a shift that I do not want to see.

I will wait until the parties come out with an actual platform and I hear from the candidates in my riding before I decide. The PPC is too new to make any impact IMO but we shall see.

Splitting the vote. If the two conservative candidates get 25% each and the Liberal candidate gets 30, Liberals win, even though much more wanted a conservative candidate.

Same deal with seats. Seats taken from the PC's make it more likely that we get a minority Liberal government, even with more seats on the con side unless they band together to form government.

Thing is, I don't understand your ABC comment... plus it's underlined and bold so it must be important. But sometimes I'm stupid like that.
