[You may have seen the now-semi-viral video of Ron Burgundy in the TSN broadcast booth on Day 1 of the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings and thought "Hey, curling! I haven't watched curling in a while. I want to get into it, but I wish I had an article explaining who to cheer for!" This is that article. You're welcome. If you want "facts" and stuff, here you go.]

It's quite in depth. Read the rest here.

I like curling, skip in one local league and play third in another.

Can't ever see myself paying money to WATCH it though!

I used to be in league curling for quite a number of years and enjoyed it.

Personally I find it's a pretty good game for TV and I tune in to touranments fairly often.

Good article.

Being a Northern Ontarian (grew up In Sudbury, spent my career in Timmins, now retired in North Bay) I loved the swipe at us Northerners...

"Here's how tough this field is: the goddamn reigning Canadian national champion is seen as a bit of a longshot. They brought great pride to Northern Ontario when they won the Brier last year. Before Brad Jacobs taught them to be proud of their curlers, Northern Ontarians just spent their days mining for nickel, getting drunk in Tim Hortons parking lots listening to BTO, and giving each other chlamydia."

I've done a couple of those things. 8O

Good stuff. Is that "Sudbury Saturday Night" I hear playing in the backround? :P

I've played in many Legion tournaments. Been to the Brier in Edmonton once, and it was a lot of fun. Seeing K-Mart do an angle raise double take out and stick for the win is actually worth the tickets.

Where can I find curling leagues in Quebec?

It's forbidden by law to curl in Quebec. You'd know that, if you weren't a filthy spammer from India.

Ron Burgundy aka Will Ferrell is not an actor I would waste my time watching...

Curling, OTOH, is a great game and a great way to waste time watching.....

Watched some women's curling this afternoon. Some good action between Team Canada and Saskatchewan, and between Ontario and Manitoba. Nice lookin' ladies too.

Rachel Homan's Ontario Rink absolutely ROCKED the Scotties sweeping the tournament for a perfect record to take the Gold and from the first draw to the last, Rachel never had to throw her final stone. Those ladies are something to see in action. Would love to see them live.

It's maybe a shame the Olympic curling is on when everyone is sleeping,

because it's been really good.

We are rocking, alright !
